WALKING LIGHTLY
The weight we carry is not the world itself, but our identification with it. The ego, believing itself to be the mind and body, clings tightly to every thought, every judgment, every shadow of the past. In doing so, it obscures the light of the Self and makes life seem heavy, dark, and oppressive. Yet the Christ within—the true Atma—need not struggle with this weight. It only shines, effortlessly.
To walk lightly is to remember that you are not the mind, but the witness of the mind. The world you perceive is a projection of what is held in consciousness. If you hold the world, you will be bound by its quicksands—fear, self-pity, and despair. But if you hold Brahman, then Brahman holds you, and your true Self becomes flesh. In this, the burden is lifted, and life reveals itself as flow rather than struggle.
Huxley reminds us that the art of living is not found in intensity of grasp, but in lightness of being. To feel lightly, even while feeling deeply, is to remember that you are the Awareness in which all arises. Life is not something happening to you, nor is Spirit something you stand within—it is what you are. When things are allowed to appear and vanish without clinging, the play of experience is seen as movement within your own Self. In that recognition, there is no weight to carry, for there was never anyone apart to carry it.
Thus, throw down the baggage of false identification. Let the “I” be clear, not entangled with the illusions of ego. Walk lightly, my darling—not away from life, but as Life itself, shining without effort, whole and indivisible.
