Is duck red meat?

Duck is technically poultry. But nutritionally, duck meat, especially duck breast, is often classified as a red meat because of its higher myoglobin content and how it cooks.

Why does that matter?

Because some people who feel fine eating chicken or turkey notice bloating, stomach discomfort, or fatigue after eating duck or other rich meats. Understanding how your body responds to different proteins can be an important step in making informed nutrition choices.

If certain foods consistently leave you feeling “off,” a food sensitivity test may help identify patterns and potential triggers so you can make decisions based on your own body, not just general guidelines.

Not all “healthy” foods are healthy for every body.

One of the reasons people can eat a very “clean” diet and still feel uncomfortable after meals has to do with something called FODMAPs.

FODMAPs are certain types of carbohydrates that are more difficult for some people to digest. Instead of being smoothly absorbed, they can ferment in the gut, which may leave some individuals feeling bloated, heavy, or simply “off” after eating.

What surprises many people is that a lot of foods widely labeled as healthy are also high in FODMAPs.

Examples include foods like onions, garlic, apples, wheat, beans, lentils, milk, cauliflower, and mushrooms. These foods are nutrient-dense and beneficial for many people — but for others, they may not be well tolerated.

This is why two people can eat the same “healthy” meal and have completely different experiences afterward.

Health is not only about what a food is on paper.
It’s also about how your body responds to it.

Understanding food intolerances — including how your body handles FODMAPs — can help bring clarity to patterns people have often normalized for years, such as regularly feeling uncomfortable, sluggish, or inflamed after eating.

At Advanced Food Intolerance Labs, we focus on helping individuals learn how their own body responds to foods so they can make informed, personalized choices instead of relying only on generalized nutrition rules.

Because the most supportive diet is not a trend.
It’s the one that works for your body.

Is mahi mahi healthy?

Yes. Mahi mahi is a nutritious seafood option, especially when grilled, baked, or broiled. It’s low in fat, rich in lean protein, and provides important nutrients that can support overall wellness. For those focused on weight management, cardiovascular health, or simply adding flavorful whole foods to their meals, mahi mahi can be a great choice.

That said, everyone’s body is different.

Foods that work well for one person may not support another in the same way. If you’re unsure whether fish or other foods are a good fit for your digestive system or energy levels, a food sensitivity test kit can help you better understand how your body responds and support more personalized nutrition choices.

If you’ve been dealing with ongoing digestive issues or unexplained symptoms, learning more about food intolerances could be a helpful place to start.

Polydipsia, often defined as excessive or abnormal thirst, is a condition in which individuals feel the constant need to drink large quantities of fluids. While thirst is typically a natural and healthy response to dehydration or environmental factors, it can sometimes indicate a more serious underlying health issue when it becomes persistent or disproportionate. Polydipsia is commonly linked to conditions like diabetes mellitus, diabetes insipidus, and certain kidney disorders. However, emerging research suggests that food intolerances may also contribute to excessive thirst by triggering inflammation in the gut, which could affect the body’s fluid regulation and thirst mechanisms.

Valacyclovir is a widely prescribed antiviral medication used to treat viral infections such as herpes simplex virus (HSV), shingles (herpes zoster), and chickenpox. It works by inhibiting viral replication and reducing symptoms. However, various factors can influence the effectiveness of valacyclovir, including how it is absorbed in the body. One of these factors is food—specifically, food intolerances, which are becoming more prevalent in modern populations.

Food intolerances can disrupt digestion, and in some cases, they may interfere with how the body absorbs medications. This article explores whether food intolerances can affect the absorption and effectiveness of valacyclovir, focusing on how these intolerances might alter the drug's pharmacokinetics and therapeutic outcomes.

Elimination diets are often seen as the gold standard when something feels “off” in the body. But for many people, they become unsustainable fast.

Cutting out long lists of foods can lead to stress around eating, nutrient gaps, social limitations, and a constant fear of doing something wrong. And even after weeks or months of restriction, many people are still left guessing which foods are actually affecting them.

At Advanced Food Intolerance Labs, we believe clarity is more supportive than restriction.

Instead of removing entire food groups and hoping symptoms improve, we focus on helping people understand how their body may be responding to specific foods. That way, choices can be guided by insight rather than trial-and-error, and eating doesn’t have to feel like punishment to feel supportive.

Wellness should build you up, not box you in.

Gluten and dairy intolerance are common dietary concerns affecting millions of people worldwide. These food sensitivities can lead to a range of symptoms, from digestive issues to skin rashes, and can significantly impact overall well-being. Interestingly, recent research has also pointed to potential links between gluten and dairy intolerance and reproductive health, particularly with regard to the menstrual cycle.

The follicular phase, a crucial part of the menstrual cycle, is responsible for the preparation of the body for ovulation. This phase is hormonally regulated and essential for fertility. Any disruption to this delicate hormonal balance can lead to irregular cycles, fertility issues, and other reproductive challenges. But can food intolerances, such as those to gluten and dairy, disrupt this phase? This article explores the potential impact of gluten and dairy intolerance on the follicular phase, highlighting the mechanisms at play and offering advice for managing these intolerances to support reproductive health.

Stomach burning is a symptom many people normalize — or manage only at the surface level.

It can show up as discomfort after meals, a constant low-grade burn, or flare-ups that seem unpredictable. While it’s often associated with acid reflux, stomach burning can stem from several overlapping factors, including digestive irritation, food sensitivities, stress-related changes in the gut, and how the body is processing certain foods.

This carousel walks through:
• Common causes of stomach burning
• How food sensitivities can play a role
• Supportive nutrition and lifestyle foundations
• Why short-term relief doesn’t always equal resolution

When symptoms repeat, the body is usually asking for more than suppression — it’s signaling that something deeper deserves attention.
