One of the most common questions I get during my workshops on perinatal depression and anxiety is, “How can I support a friend?” One thing I love to do is make them a meal or buy a gift card—not just during the six weeks after delivering baby, but anytime they’re in need. Whether it’s late nights with the baby, managing older kids, or dealing with busy work and activity schedules, showing up with a meal or gift card can ease their burden.

Today, I had a transformative encounter with someone who posed a simple yet profound question: “What if you embraced every aspect of yourself?” That resonated deeply with me—the quirky parts, the ones that never quite fit into the conventional mold. I’ve always felt like the neurodivergent g...

🌟 Embracing Neurodiversity and Motherhood 🌟

Imagine a world where we celebrate individuals for who they are, not who we expect them to be. Today, as I admired the unique dress my 6-year-old designed for her Barbie, I realized the beauty in embracing her individuality. As a mom, I’ve learned that each child is wonderfully different.

My journey with my daughter has also led me to a profound personal discovery—I’ve recently been diagnosed with Autism, a condition I had long suspected, alongside ADHD. Living undiagnosed with these challenges was tough, navigating a world not always understanding of our needs.

But through therapy and acceptance, I’ve found incredible support. Therapy has helped me understand my neurodiversity and how to thrive with it. It’s also guided me in supporting my daughter better, appreciating her unique strengths and challenges.

If you’re a mom navigating similar paths—whether discovering neurodiversity in yourself or supporting a child with autism or ADHD—know that there’s help. Therapy offers a safe space to explore, understand, and embrace these journeys. Together, we can learn to celebrate our differences and empower ourselves and our children.

🌸 Let’s embrace neurodiversity together. Reach out today to discover how therapy can support you and your family. 🌸

Last summer, I was 1 in 5 moms who had postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety. Everyday, I’d call my husband to come home early because I was so scared. The rage and screaming was so horrible. And I honestly believed I was just a, “bad mom.”

But that was just the postpartum depression and anxiety talking. Getting help and having an amazing therapist made all the difference! This summer has been a complete 180! Being able to enjoy time with them with or without my husband!

For those that are struggling, I share this for you. To let you know, you’re not alone. Help is available. The mom you were supposed to be versus the mom your postpartum depression and/or postpartum anxiety is making you be. Know the difference. And know you’re not alone.

You are loved. You are worth it! And please don’t let anyone shame you into believing you’re not worthy of your kids or parenting. You can do this! Help is available to walk along side you.
