Anger is an action emotion, even when it’s internalized or passively released.
It often leads to self-judgement, shame, guilt, or blame when it’s not understood or managed correctly.
I’m the first to raise my hand ✋🏽 when asked if anger is hard rock you land on, too often these days.
Anger in simple terms, is our bodies shut down feature when we are out of capacity to use our words, create change, or meet needs.
It’s the release valve when something, some action or event, hits against a belief we hold as true, and we don’t have the capacity to navigate the “hit” in another way.
An unkept promise, hits against my belief that I expect to be treated with honesty and communication, so my brain and body experience anger.
Step 1: Get a grasp on what beliefs trigger anger for you. As a mom, as a human, as a friend, as a co-worker, a roommate, or a rando at the market.
