The holidays don’t have to drain your wallet or your peace.

If you’ve ever looked at your December bank statement and thought, “Yikes.” - this one’s for you.

Here are 5 mindful ways to stay grounded, give meaningfully, and still treat yourself come January.

Sometimes the hardest part of therapy is just dealing with insurance paperwork.

Private pay means fewer forms, less waiting, and more time for what actually helps you. 🌿

Sometimes the best coping tool isn’t about thinking your way out...it’s about moving your way through.
This week in The Coping Corner, we’re talking about using your body for coping.
No, I’m not here to tell you to “just do yoga” (that’s a later episode 😉).

Movement helps release tension stored in the body, whether it’s scrubbing a counter, mowing the lawn, or going for a bike ride. You don’t have to run a marathon; just get your heart rate up a little and let your body do some of the work your mind’s been carrying.

What kind of movement helps you let go of tension?

💬 And tell us — what’s something you’d love to talk about in Coping Corner?

Therapy should fit you - not your insurance plan. 🌿
Here are 3 reasons private pay might actually give you more freedom, privacy, and flexibility in your care.

✨ Bonus: a myth worth busting at the end.

If you’ve ever thought, “Why do I pull away?” or “Why do I get anxious when someone else does?” - this one’s for you.

Attachment styles are learned patterns, not life sentences. With time and care, they can change.

Let’s look at how each style shows up - and what helps you move toward security. 💛

You don’t have to earn your rest.
Burnout isn’t the price of success — it’s a signal to pause.
Take the day off. Take the trip. Breathe. 🌿

Attachment styles, but make it pumpkin spice season. ☕🍂

Your attachment style doesn’t define you, it just explains your seasonal behavior. 😉

A simple coping tool that can make a big difference: ice. 🧊

When your mind is racing or you’re feeling overwhelmed, try holding an ice cube in your hand or taking a sip of very cold water. That sudden temperature shift helps pull your focus back to the present moment. It’s a small mindfulness reset for your nervous system.

I’ve had clients use this before public speaking, during anxiety spikes, or anytime they need help staying grounded. It’s quick, accessible, and surprisingly effective.

Have you ever tried this one before? I’d love to hear how it worked for you (or if you give it a try this week). 💬

Our attachment styles shape how we connect - how safe, seen, and supported we feel in relationships.

Maybe relationships feel secure and balanced.

Or maybe you find yourself stuck in patterns of anxiety, avoidance, or over-functioning.
The good news? Attachment styles aren’t fixed! With awareness and support, you can move toward earned secure attachment or healing old wounds and building relationships that feel safe and fulfilling.

If this topic resonates with you and you’re ready to start exploring your attachment style in therapy, you can book a free consultation through the link in our bio. 💫

💬 Which attachment style feels most familiar to you right now?
And what would secure connection look like for you?

One BIG, GIANT, HUMONGOUS problem with burnout is that most people don't realize they're headed for it until it's too late. If you consider yourself a high-achiever, you're probably more susceptible to burnout than most! When people around you consistently get the impression that you can "do it all," they usually let you do it all. After enough time in this do-it-all-without-any-help cycle, most people launch themselves headfirst into burnout. Burnout might look like exhaustion, lack of motivation, resenting things you used to enjoy, and the list goes on and on.

The good news is, you can develop an awareness around signs that you're burning out. And, when you're aware, you can start to deploy strategies that prevent you from reaching full-on burnout.

I have a couple blogs up about overachievers and recognizing the signs of burnout (link in bio)! I encourage you to check those out if you relate to any of this!

Burnout isn’t something that happens overnight. It doesn’t show up all at once with a neon sign saying, “Hey, you’ve done too much.” Instead, it creeps in, quietly and subtly, until suddenly, you’re burnt out and not quite sure how you got there.

That’s where the work of psychologists Herbert Freudenberger and Gail North comes in. They created a framework that outlines 12 stages of burnout. Yes, twelve. And you don’t have to be at the end of the list for it to be a problem.

Read more details about each stage in my blog post linked in bio!

If you see yourself in any of these stages, let's talk. I absolutely love working with people who want to continue being high-achievers, but are ready to take the necessary steps to prevent hitting burnout.
