Conversation I had with a friend over text. If you have low back pain, a lot of times it’s due to posture. Learn how to control your pelvis and rib cage and it will probably relieve some/all of your low back pain. It will make you significantly stronger as well 💪

We’ve all been on that binge eat, binge workout, starve yourself cycle.

Not only is it no fun, but it’s 100% counterproductive to achieving your goals.

Every choice matters when it comes to nutrition and fitness, because the sum of all those choices, no matter how small they may seem add up to be what become our habits.

I wanted to share this today because it reminded me of one of my pet peeves with things like crossfit.

Here’s the deal, if you’re like the vast majority of the people out there…you’re not a world class athlete.
-
Why is that important? It’s important because if you’re 30 plus years old, sit at your desk for 8-10 hours a day, and are in less than peak physical condition the idea of doing burpees should scare the hell out of you.
-
Why? Because your risk of injury is incredibly high.
-
Even world class athletes injure themselves doing many of the exercises involved in your average Cross Fit Class.
-
So let me add in the other important factor…the risk reward factor.
-
You would think that if you increased your risk of injury exponentially your results would have to also increase proportionately….correct?
-
Here’s the thing…they don’t. You’re better off practicing the basic compound lifts using proper technique consistently over a long period of time.
-

Our featured exercise today is the Glute-ham raise (GHR).

On the left is poopy form, (⬅️ in case you didn’t know what that emoji meant)…or incorrect ways that we see this workout getting done from time to time… and on the right is proper form.

Are you tired of hearing us tell you guys how important form is? Good, because it’s important enough that we harp on it once a week right here.

Remember, if you’re not a member with us, and you're not sure how to do an exercise, grab a trainer and ask for help, otherwise you risk injury, and at the very least a complete lack of progress.
-
If you’re working out here, we’ll always have someone keeping an eye on you to make sure that your form is up to par and moving you in the right direction.

Don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits.

Pushing yourself a little bit each day is a great way to move beyond the plateau that you’re on now and an even better way to move in the direction of your goals.
-
It’s not easy, the comfort zone is…well, for lack of a better term, comfortable. And that’s dangerous.
-
Too much comfort can lead to mediocrity, and once you start accepting less of yourself in one area of your life it’s easier to demand less of yourself across the board.
-
So fight that. Every day, every week, every month.
-
Leave that comfort zone, and start to make those changes that you want to see a reality.
-
