DYK - High cholesterol does not always mean you need to be on statins. Are you familiar with Total Cholesterol divided by HDL ratio? Use me as an example: My total cholesterol level is 220 my HDL is 65 so 220/65 =3.385, which is less than 5 so I opted not to be on statins because of side effects. It’s risk reward, so check with your P*P and be prepared to talk ratios. I find it hard to lower my Total Cholesterol with lifestyle changes; however, it’s easy for me to raise my good cholesterol HDL. How do I do it? I increase Fish oil supplements, eat salmon and tuna regularly and cook with Virgin Olive Oil. Always do your research and make wise decisions 🤔🙏🏼😊
