Employee of the Month - October 2025 is Younis Leftwai!

Younis is one of our Nurses here on campus and is willing to do anything asked of him. He was described as reliable, accountable, responsive, upbeat, proactive, and he really knows his residents. He is also polite and ready to help wherever the need. He shows great compassion, loves working the floor to be hands on with residents, and has been a great asset to our nursing team. We appreciate your hard work! 💙

Rookie of the Month - October 2025 is Phillip Carrel!

Phil is a part of our nursing team and works most often on the Wang neighborhood. He was nominated by one of his residents in Wang, who even attended the ceremony to watch Phil receive his much deserved award. Phil has been described as helpful, always willing to do any task, courteous, and respectful. A family member on campus also mentioned how good with the residents he is, gentle natured, and always prompt. Additionally, he is always willing to help, pick up wherever the need is, and overall we have had lots of positive feedback about his work. 😊

Residents enjoyed meeting & loving on Murphy the therapy dog this week and we are so looking forward to his monthly visits with handler, Diane. Animal therapy enriches the lives of our residents and brings the biggest smiles to everyone's face.

We are so excited to welcome Murphy to the Village and look forward to his future visits! 🐾🐶 💛

Employee of the Month - September 2025 is Rocky Delacruz!

Rocky is one of our over night nurses working hard on our Wallace neighborhood, while most people are asleep! He was nominated by one of his residents and described as being kind, having a big heart, and really caring about the residents. He is always eager to take feedback, has a gentle soul, and takes time to always show patience. Rocky is a great example of wonderful customer service at Village Shalom. We are so proud to have him as one of our wonderful nurses here in the Village. 😊💙

Hosting beach volleyball with our Blue Valley CAPS CNA students in the Village is definitely one of our favorite ways to add some fun and competition to their learning experiences. 🏐 Our residents were really giving it their all, and there might have been a bit of smack talk happening across the net! 😂

We absolutely love watching everyone interact and have a great time together.

Rookie of the Month - September 2025 is Marissa Perez!

Marissa is a part of our care team on the Wang neighborhood and while she hasn't been with us very long, she definitely has been making a big difference. Nominated by Nazira, Marissa was described as being excellent with our residents, always maintaining a positive attitude, and completes her work with a smile. She makes sure her residents are happy and well cared for and is always supportive of her co-workers. She cares greatly about our residents including knowing their individual preferences and we couldn't be prouder to have her as part of our care team. 😊

This week, we welcomed students from Blue Valley CAPS back on to our campus!

These amazing young faces are working towards becoming future Certified Nursing Assistants and are learning along side our team members in the Village. This fall we have both a morning class and an afternoon class seen along side their teacher, Nicole Acheson. We love having so many extra smiling faces, that are so eager to learn. 💙

When you see the students, please give them a big warm Village Shalom welcome!! 😊
