The Fitness Pivot It is life's unexpected changes that cause us to fall off track with our fitness plan. I think most people would answer by saying family and career.

It doesn't matter if it is a good change, a bad change, a big change, or a small change; when changes happen we must pivot from plan A to keep fitness a priority. If I asked you what are your top priorities in life, how would you answer? Everyone sees health and fitness as something that is important, but we always seem to put it off until later. We all have obstacles in our lives that we use as e

xcuses as to why we can’t make our own health a priority at the moment. We use these obstacles as validation to ourselves that it is just not in the cards for us to get in shape right now. Our fitness is always the thing we plan to get to later … you know, when we have more time. The problem with that way of thinking is that that magical day we are waiting for when all of sudden we won’t be busy anymore and we will have tons of free time - that day will never come. It does not exist. That is the realization you need to make right now. I really hate to be the one to break it to you, but there will never be a shortage of excuses. How Does Fitness Fit Right Now?

Over the last 20 years in personal training, I have helped a lot of people, of all different ages and fitness levels, reach lots of different goals. 
🚴‍♂️❤️🚴

I believe my strength and passion is in helping people re-establish how fitness fits in their life after a life change disrupts their routines.  It’s the inevitable changes we go through in life that cause us to put fitness off to the side. It is normal to find yourself in a time of your life where you feel like you have no time for fitness, and it becomes something you plan to get to later.

As life changes, the way fitness fits in our life has to change along with it. When you are in your early 20’s, it is likely that you have time to workout for 2 hours a day 5 days a week if you want to. However, once you are in your late 30’s or older, you most likely don’t have near the time or the energy to spend on fitness.  Your life is just different now. You may have a job with much more responsibilities, you may be married with kids, there are just many more things that demand your energy and time than earlier in your life. The amount of time we have available to dedicate towards our fitness plan changes throughout our life.

It is when we try to approach our fitness plan like we used to, instead of how it fits in the present, that we struggle to find time for it at all.  I help people figure out how it fits in the life they are living right now.

If you're a man who is a former athlete, and now busy professional, who feels like you are constantly struggling to lose that last 20 lbs to reclaim your glory day athletic body...trust me I feel you.

Because that is the fight I was in for years.

But since I started using my 4-step G.A.I.N Formula, I have been able to maintain the fitness level I desire that makes me the most confident about myself. Most importantly, I've been able to do this without having to sacrifice any priceless family time.

Unpopular Opinion: It's ok to give up.

Let me clarify my stance on this a bit. I'm not saying it's ok to give up on reaching your goals. I would never let a client or myself do that. It is ok to give up on what's not working.

Sometimes in order to find success you just have to give up on what's not working. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. We tend to fear change, so making changes is hard. If something worked for us in the past, no matter how long ago that was, we have a tough time abandoning it.

What worked for you in the past may not work for you at all now, because your life is different. Always remember that what you do for fitness has to fit in your life. If you are having a tough time staying consistent and getting results, it may just be time for some changes.

Don't give up on reaching your goals...Give up on the game plan that isn't working.
