Yesterday was a special day at Senior Helpers of Johnson County.
Our team, caregivers, community members, local schools, and businesses came together for our annual Dear Senior Valentine’s Card Drive, creating hundreds of cards that will be delivered to seniors across our community this Valentine’s Day. The goal is simple. To make sure seniors know they are remembered, valued, and loved.
We were honored to have three local TV stations join us to help share the story and shine a light on something our caregivers see every day. Many seniors experience loneliness, especially around holidays, and small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. A handwritten card, a few kind words, and a reminder that someone cares can go a long way.
Senior Helpers provides in home, non medical care, but companionship and connection are at the heart of what we do. Events like this are a reminder that caring for seniors is truly a community effort.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, made cards, donated cards, or helped spread the word. We cannot wait to deliver these to seniors throughout Kansas City this week.

If you would still like to participate, you can create a card addressed “Dear Senior” and drop it off at our office today. The more cards, the more smiles we can deliver.
