INflammation occurs immediately upon hitting your head. These chemicals (called cytokines) specifically IL6 is a predictor of how bad and possibly fatal the head blow is OR how long it will take you to get better.

The faster you decrease these harmful inflammatory chemicals the faster your brain gets better.
