We wish our safe space could be open today. Joey has been out on the roads and crews still need a few more hours to get the majority of areas plowed. We are sending each of you love right where you are and asking you to spend a moment in Metta Meditation today:
1. Take a comfortable seat. Embody kindness by allowing a soft smile to pass your face. You can stop to cry if you need to first. Embody kindness again.
2. Rub your hands together as you visualize different people in succession, for each, repeating phrases like the following (be inspired):
• Someone you love
• Yourself
• An acquaintance
• Someone difficult
• All beings everywhere
3. The phrases you speak to each person could include: “May you be safe.” “May you be happy.” “May you be healthy.” “May you live a life of ease.”
4. You can close by dropping your chin to your chest and humming or singing “Om,” “Amin,” or “Amen.” When you feel settled, we’d encourage you to journal some ideas on direct action to support people in need in your immediate community. You might look to organizations like or for ideas.
