Prairie Elder Homes are not corporation-owned or one of a hundred chains. They hire skilled caregivers who share their passion for learning and attend training on a regular basis.

>> Residential Neighborhoods & only 6 to 8 residents for personal care

Our homes are located in residential neighborhoods, which help our residents adjust to a new setting because it’s much like their own homes. The setting is intimate with only six to eight residents, and we consider it their home. Through building trusting relationships with family, each of our residents is treated and cared for as an individual. We pay attention to and care about the details of your loved one’s history, preferred routines and lifestyle. At Prairie Elder Homes, their days and activities are too. One of the unique features you will find in a Prairie Elder Home is the >>Snoezelen Approach> Premium, personalized shouldn’t come only at a premium price

PEC Friday Flash⚡️
We were happy with the lovely weather this week! We spent lots of time outdoors soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the beautiful farmstead.🌾☀️🌸Hank made his rounds every day. He loves being with the residents. He always puts a smile on the residents faces.🥰♥️ We enjoyed porch time visiting with family and friends. Wooly Nelson, our youngest sheep, enjoyed visiting the houses this week. Mike entertained us with singing and his guitar, we have a bird nest on the front door of Farm East that we are checking on, and we’ve started enjoying the front porches and visiting the neighbors. We had planting day on Tuesday. All the pots and flower bins on the porches are planted. The residents are doing a good job keeping them watered💦. We made lemon cream cheese dump cake with Shae. So Good! Robin did our hair, we had a visit from the cutest little guy named Max, and Delana relaxed us on her hand pan. Shae led us in some fun spring crafts. We did positive affirmation rocks and yarn butterflies to name a few.🦋 We went to the Grandparents program at Stillwell Elementary, and we loved having the BV CAPS students in the houses on Friday. The students helped with cares, led bingo games, and helped residents enjoy our new baby chicks.🐣

We’ve had so much going on this week it was hard to pick what to highlight💡. Shae led the houses in many fun activities this week including crafts, flower arranging, and making homemade strawberry shortcake completely from scratch, including the whipped cream!🍓Mike Ashley entertained at the dance party. We are always up for good music and dancing the afternoon away💃🕺🏽. Robin did a great job in the beauty salon this week. It’s always good to get our summer hair cuts☀️. We helped with chores, enjoyed delicious meals, and sat on the patios enjoying the beautiful weather. We had a wonderful time in Mrs. Sherwoods class this week. The students reading has really taken off! We are always impressed when we leave📚♥️. Friday we had the BV CAPS students in the houses. It was a great day of helping with the residents, learning about their brain health, and working on the farm🐖🐐🐓🐑🌾. The MNU nursing students were here too helping with care and keeping up with their studies👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️💉⏱️

We celebrated Easter with a delicious dinner prepared by the pec staff🐰. Monday we enjoyed Mike on guitar and singing our favorite tunes🎸. The residents made the cutest sheep cupcakes with Shae. We enjoyed eating them after the sheep shearing on Wednesday. Both Rhiannon and Wooly Nelson are enjoying their hair cuts. D’Shawn volunteered this week. He interacted with the residents, walked Hank, and helped with the animals. The houses were buzzing with all kinds of fun this week; puzzles, daily chronicle, crafts with Shae, games, and lots of dishing and outside time☀️. Big shoutout to the Grill Queens, Shae & Millie, for cooking hamburgers for all the residents on Wednesday👩‍🍳. Delania played drums at Farm West. We love when she comes and plays her relaxing zen music♥️. Thursday we celebrate Val’s birthday, interacted with the MNU Nursing students, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Friday was busy with the BV CAPS students. We love when they are here on Fridays.♥️♥️

Family visits, good weather, fun activities, animals, and students…It’s been a great week in the PEC Farmstead!
You might say we all have a bit of spring fever around here. The garden beds are being filled and the plants and seeds are here waiting to be planted.
🥬☀️🫛🌱♥️We have super wonderful families here at PEC. And we love when families visit. You can see in all the pictures throughout the post how important love and connection is around here.😍
We enjoyed baking with Shae this week. The cookie bars were a huge hit! We did a fun art activity using dried flowers. Each piece turned out beautiful and unique.🌸 Shae organized an ice cream social on the patios. It was a balmy 95 degrees and the ice cream was a nice refreshing treat.🍦
Delana soothed us into total relaxation with her beautiful drumming, sweet Hank visited the residents in all the houses, and we enjoyed afternoons playing cards and doing puzzles. We went to our Grandparents reading program at Stilwell Elementary and ended the week with the BV CAPS students for Red Friday at the farm. 🐷🐐🐓🐑🌾🥰☀️
