Sometimes, our out of control experience is not rooted in overwhelmed or powerless emotions but rather in disappointment. When we Hope for something, realized or not, and it fails to happen, we can be left confused, irritated, and feeling out of control in our ability to meet our own wants / needs.

Take a today to explore your unmet, unknown, unacknowledged expectations and how those may be playing in to your emotions.

The emotional experience of being “out of control” can stem from a lot different emotions.

These 2 are the most common I see in my office.

The out of control that comes when everything is too much. It’s all happening faster than we can keep up, faster than we can succeed, and leaving us feeling an overwhelming feeling of being out of control.

The out of control feeling the comes when we feel powerless. The moments when we perceive no control, no advocacy, no autonomy over our circumstances. We don’t know where else to look, who to look towards, or where to run. Our fight / flight resources are tapped out.

Be MINDFUL this Monday as you curiosly explore where your “out of control” experiences stem from. It may just change your responses for the better.

Yes, you will find yourself again.
Eating disorders isolate us.
They drain your energy.
Steal your personality.
Complicate relationships.
Numb you.

Eating does bring back your personality. Your spark. Your beautiful self.

Life is hard.
Recovery is hard.
Motherhood is hard.

We cannot avoid the hard, out of control, experiences. We can learn from them, grow from them, and control how we show up within them. Consistency is key.

As we come together as a community to support one another in the wake of this tragedy, let us remember that healing is a journey that takes time and patience. By creating safe spaces for emotion, practicing mindfulness, utilizing your connections and relationships, understanding trauma, and prioritizing self-care, we can find solace and strength as we navigate the path to healing. Together, we can overcome adversity and emerge stronger than before.
