A new survey from the design-build firm Clayco shows that 64% of U.S. construction workers have experienced depression or anxiety in the past year — up from 54% in 2024.

At Clayco, safety is our first priority. We believe psychological safety is just as important as physical safety. Our recent report shows that six in ten construction workers from across the country experience anxiety or depression, yet stigma and fear of judgment still prevent many from seeking help.

We’re committed to building a culture where asking for help is respected, supported, and normalized. As part of that commitment, Clayco has partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) as a StigmaFree Workplace partner to increase education, awareness, and support for psychological safety across the industry. Our Russell Burns Building has won the AIA St. Louis Distinguished Award Winner, Adaptive Reuse! Our new, expanded home has allowed for better collaboration and innovation between all of our teams since we moved in at the start of 2025.
