✨ I am so excited & grateful, my story won this bowl. 🙏🏼 Picture this: A serene airport lounge, the faint hum of distant chatter, and there I am, confidently gliding through customs with my trusty rainbow sounds crystal singing bowls snug in their safe, durable carry bags. Little did I know, these carry bags would spark such curiosity.

“What’s in the bags?” asks the first security officer, raising an eyebrow. I smile, knowing this might take some explaining. “They’re singing bowls, for sound healing.” A pause, then the question that changes everything: “You’re having a party?”

I couldn’t help but chuckle. If healing vibrations under a Bali sunset qualify as a party, then yes, I’m the life of it! As the officer waves me through, I think, “Wait till they hear what these bowls can really do.”

Fast forward to Bali. Under a sky painted with the hues of twilight, I gather a circle of retreat participants. At the center lies a stunning petal mandala, its intricate design reflecting qualities of the heart. Candles flicker gently, casting a golden glow. The air carries a magical stillness, the kind where you can feel the universe taking a deep breath.

In this mystical setting, I place my bowls with reverence. Each petal of the mandala represents a different quality: joy, peace, kindness, patience, love, harmony, clarity, compassion, purity, forgiveness, and bliss. As I play each bowl, their resonant tones align with the chakras, awakening and amplifying the corresponding qualities.

Participants close their eyes, their faces softening into serenity. The bowls’ melodies seem to weave together the colors of the sunset, the fragrance of flowers, and the gentle hum of the earth itself. In that moment, the world feels lighter, brighter, more alive.

As the practice concludes, I glance up at the sky, now twinkling with stars. “If this is a party,” I think with a smile, “it’s the most sacred one I’ve ever attended.”

And just like that, my crystal singing bowls not only traveled from Melbourne to Bali—they carried everyone in the circle to a place beyond borders, beyond words. A place of pure bliss. Who needs ordinary parties when the cosmos is your dance floor?

In the world of Yin Yoga, archetypes serve as foundational poses that guide practitioners in exploring flexibility, range of motion, and the profound connection between mind and body.
Shoelace Pose (known as Gomukhasana, or Cow Face Pose) emphasizes deep hip compression while stretching the glutes, outer hips, and lower back. This archetype is particularly effective for improving flexibility in the hips and glutes, relieving tension in the lower back & promoting relaxation and stillness.
With origins in Hatha Yoga, Gomukhasana was traditionally practiced as a meditative seat. Its intertwined leg position symbolizes unity—the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit—a core principle of Yoga philosophy.
Shoelace Pose also resonates energetically, aligning chakras. Muladhara (Root Chakra): Encourages grounding and stability, connecting you to Earth’s energy. Svadisthana (Sacral Chakra): Activates emotional release and creativity through hip compression. Anahata (Heart Chakra): With a forward fold, it nurtures compassion and emotional healing. Ajna (Third Eye Chakra): Supports intuition when practiced mindfully.
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, this pose interacts with meridian lines. Liver Meridian: Clears emotional blocks and fosters decision-making. Gallbladder Meridian: Promotes flexibility and releases frustration. Kidney Meridian: Invigorates vitality and relaxation.
Moreover, Shoelace Pose stimulates fascia—enhancing tissue elasticity, relieving adhesions, and promoting hydration of connective tissues. By holding the pose, practitioners unlock physical and emotional tension, paving the way for mobility and restoration.
Shoelace is ideal for releasing tension after prolonged sitting, processing stress or emotional turbulence, grounding during moments of anxiety, stretching post-exercise to improve recovery &
calming the body during evening routines.
