Jumping on the cartoon character trend… but make it neurologically-focused 😎🌀

Meet Dr. Drake—our resident “Slayer of Subluxation” rocking his go to Expect Miracles tee and good sense of humor (lol). 💪✨

Because when the nervous system gets stuck in stress mode, kiddos (and parents!) feel it in everything: sleep, focus, meltdowns, digestion, and immune function.

The parasympathetic system is essential during pregnancy - but it’s also one of the first things to get overwhelmed when life gets busy, sleep gets choppy, digestion slows down, or your body is carrying extra tension.

When your nervous system stays stuck in “go-go-go” mode, you’ll often feel it as:
• More restlessness and light sleep
• Slower digestion, bloating, reflux, or constipation
• More irritability or anxiety
• Tightness through the ribs, diaphragm, hips, and pelvic floor
• Less “capacity” to handle stress (even the normal stuff)

That’s where prenatal, neurologically-focused chiropractic care can be a game changer.

At Innate, we use INSiGHT Scans to measure how well your nervous system is regulating and adapting - so we’re not guessing. Then we tailor care to help reduce stress patterns and improve brain-body communication. As that improves, many moms notice better sleep, smoother digestion, improved relaxation, healthier vagus nerve tone, and more balanced pelvic function (including support with techniques like Webster).

If you want a calmer, more comfortable pregnancy, and a nervous system that feels steady instead of stretched thin, we’re here for you. 💜

Pregnancy puts enormous demand on a woman’s nervous system. As the body grows and adapts, the autonomic system works overtime to regulate digestion, sleep, blood flow, hormones, and emotional balance.

When stress builds, the system shifts toward sympathetic “fight or flight” - making it harder for the body to rest, digest, and regulate. That’s where prenatal chiropractic care can make a profound difference.

Using INSiGHT Scans, we identify tension patterns and autonomic imbalance. Gentle adjustments help restore communication through the vagus nerve and pelvic region, allowing the parasympathetic system to function more effectively.

Supporting mom’s nervous system is one of the easiest ways to support a healthy, comfortable pregnancy.

Pregnancy is incredible… and it’s also a full-time nervous system event.

Here’s what most moms aren’t told: a huge part of how you feel during pregnancy depends on whether your body can shift into “rest, digest, and regulate.” That’s your parasympathetic system; the one tied to sleep, digestion, calm, hormone regulation, and how smoothly your body adapts to change.

But between physical changes, growing pressure, a busy schedule, and the mental load of preparing for baby, that system can get overwhelmed. And when it does, your symptoms often aren’t random, they’re patterned: trouble sleeping, digestive swings, nausea that lingers, anxious feelings you can’t quite shut off, or tightness through the pelvis and low back that makes everything feel harder.

The goal isn’t a “perfect” pregnancy. It’s a supported one.
That’s why neurologically-focused prenatal chiropractic care can be such a powerful tool. We look at the stress patterns your body is carrying, then use gentle care to help your nervous system shift from survival mode into regulation - so you can breathe deeper, sleep better, and feel more at home in your changing body.

Want a calmer pregnancy and a body that adapts with more ease? We’re here to help. 💛

We often talk about prenatal vitamins, food lists, and birth plans - but we don’t talk nearly enough about stress.

When mom’s nervous system stays stuck in fight-or-flight, the body shifts resources away from growth, repair, digestion, and immune development - and toward survival.
And baby is developing inside that environment.

Prenatal stress doesn’t just affect how pregnancy feels - it can influence how baby’s nervous system wires, how they adapt to the world, how they sleep, how they digest, and how they handle stimulation after birth.

This is why neurologically-focused prenatal chiropractic care isn’t about “cracking backs.”

It’s about helping mom’s body shift back into rest + regulate - the state where growth, healing, and development happen best.

Because a regulated mom supports a thriving baby. 💛

Dr. Drake is heading ✈️ to Greeley, CO on Thursday to help develop the Part IV exam.

What is the Part IV exam, you ask? Great question! 🤷‍♀️

Chiropractors go through a four part national board exam in order to be eligible to be licensed in their state. Dr. Drake is stoked to get to be a part of this process to evaluate these exams! 😁🙌🦴

C-sections can be lifesaving 🤍

They can also change how a baby’s nervous system experiences its first major stress and adaptation event.
The goal isn’t fear - it’s understanding. When we understand how the nervous system adapts after birth, we can support regulation, resilience, and healthy development moving forward.

That’s why we use INSiGHT scans to see how the nervous system is functioning and gently support better brain-body communication. When regulation improves, kids thrive 💛

C-sections can be necessary and lifesaving 🤍 However, research continues to show they can influence how a child’s nervous system adapts over time.

A large systematic review published through the National Library of Medicine, analyzing data from more than 20 million births, found that children born via C-section had a 33% higher likelihood of an autism diagnosis compared to those born vaginally. That doesn’t mean a C-section determines a child’s future - but it does tell us that birth experience matters to neurological development.

Birth is the nervous system’s first major stress and adaptation event.

During a C-section, the head and upper neck can experience significant strain, and the body misses out on the compression, movement, and hormonal signaling that help organize the brain–body connection. For some children, this can make regulation harder as they grow.

That’s where neurologically focused chiropractic care comes in.

Using INSiGHT scans, we can objectively measure patterns of stress, tension, and imbalance in the nervous system. From there, gentle chiropractic adjustments are used to reduce that stress, improve communication between the brain and body, and support better regulation - especially in children navigating sensory challenges and autism.

What matters most is how we support the nervous system moving forward - helping it adapt, regulate, and thrive 💛

If this sounds like your child’s story, we’re here to help you understand what their nervous system may be asking for.

02/10/2026

No matter your child’s birth story, sometimes lifesaving interventions are exactly what’s needed 🤍 What often gets overlooked is what support looks like after birth.

Research shows that early birth stress can influence how a child’s nervous system adapts as they grow. That doesn’t mean outcomes are predetermined - but it does mean nervous system input and regulation matter.

Birth is a child’s first major stress and adaptation event. When that experience is different, the nervous system may benefit from extra support to help with regulation, communication, and adaptability over time.

That’s why finding a trained pediatric chiropractor early can make such a difference. At Innate, we focus on understanding the nervous system and supporting kids and families through every season of life ♥️

In 2018, the World Health Organization emphasized that C-sections are lifesaving and essential when medically necessary - but also noted that rising rates worldwide have not led to improved outcomes overall. In fact, unnecessary C-sections may be associated with increased short- and long-term challenges for both moms and babies.

Since then, C-section rates have risen from roughly 21% to 30% worldwide. 😔
That’s why early nervous system support matters - especially for babies born via C-section.

During a C-section birth, different forces and tension can be placed on a baby’s head, neck, and shoulders. With gentle, non-invasive INSiGHT scans, we’re able to see how a baby’s nervous system is adapting and where stress patterns may be showing up 🧠

From there, care is personalized to support regulation, communication, and healthy neurological development from the start.
