Did you know?
When you retire and start Medicare, your income can affect how much you pay for your Medicare premiums. This is called IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount).

If your income is above a certain limit, you may pay more for:
✔️ Medicare Part B
✔️ Medicare Part D prescription coverage

What surprises many people is that Medicare looks at your income from about 2 years ago — which means selling a home, large withdrawals from retirement accounts, or other income changes could increase your costs.

The good news?
Some life-changing events like retirement, loss of income, divorce, or the death of a spouse may allow you to request a reduction in your IRMAA amount.
