♦️The gut-brain axis: why a healthy gut is the key to a healthy life♦️

♦️In recent years, it has been increasingly said that the gut is our second brain. And indeed - there is continuous communication between the gut and the brain via the vagus nerve, hormones, the immune system and substances produced by our gut microbiome. Therefore, gut health directly affects not only our body, but also our psyche.♦️

♦️How the gut affects health and mood♦️

Microbiome - trillions of bacteria in the intestines produce important substances such as serotonin and dopamine, which affect mood, energy and sleep.

Immune system - up to 80% of immunity is located in the intestines. If the intestinal mucosa is weakened, there is a greater susceptibility to diseases.

Psyche - a disturbed gut and microbiome can lead to anxiety, depression, irritability or impaired concentration.

Digestion and absorption – a healthy gut means better use of nutrients from food.
