Faith-Based Grief Support For Widows Samantha Goins | Reclaimed Horizons
Widowhood changes everything 🦋
The quiet, complicated parts of grief. A safe space for widows.

Samantha Goins, a dedicated christian widow grief coach, has transformed her personal tragedy into a powerful mission. Widowed since 2020, she faced the daunting task of navigating her own grief while supporting her 3 young children. After 18 months of intense darkness, Samantha began her journey towards healing, learning to nurture her mind, body, and spirit. Her healing journey began with small, intentional steps, leading her to become an expert in managing grief, recognizing triggers, coping with secondary losses, and dealing with depression and anxiety. Most importantly, she has learned to lean on God and practice self-love and grace. Her mission is to guide other christian widows through their grief journey, helping them embrace their pain, heal, and move forward in life with a reclaimed life full of hope and joy.

For the widow who gets up every day and keeps going, even though everything inside feels altered…I know this season doesn’t feel strong. It feels exhausting.

When I was in this season, people praised me for my strength. What they didn’t see, is that I wasn’t “choosing courage, I actually didn’t have a choice but to survive the impossible. I was surviving a loss I didn’t get a vote in.

Survival mode as a widow looks like getting through the next moment, the next hour and then somehow, the day.

If this is where you are, you are not weak. You are doing what it takes to endure the impossible and survive each day.

🦋 Save this for the days survival feels especially heavy.

❤️Share or tag a widow who needs her experience named today and needs to feel less alone.

For widows, the last day of the year isn’t about new beginnings, it’s about standing at the edge of another year WITHOUT him.

If today feels heavy, tender, or quietly overwhelming, nothing is wrong with you. This isn’t a lack of hope. It’s grief and love carried forward.

You don’t have to feel ready.
You’re allowed to enter this year gently.

If this resonates, share it so another widow who needs this feels less alone today. ❤️

Two days before Christmas can feel heavier than the day itself for widows. There’s still laundry to fold. Still meals to make. Still kids to care for.

And all of it is happening while your heart is missing him.

If today felt like survival instead of celebration,
nothing is wrong with you.

This is what it looks like to grieve and still show up.
This is what it means to love and keep going anyway.

If you’re carrying Christmas while grieving him…
the pressure, the exhaustion, the quiet ache underneath it all, Comment DECEMBER and I’ll send you something gentle to help you breathe through this week.

This isn’t about being sad, it’s about grief. Grief doesn’t always show up as tears or longing. Sometimes it shows up as disorientation…like your mind can’t quite catch up to the calendar.

Yesterday was December 17th and I finally put the tree up. Grief makes familiar things hard to reach. I dreaded it. I had to make myself do it. Because I have kids and they still need Christmas, even while my heart and brain can’t fully wrap around it yet.

So we chose simple this year. Not perfect. Just gentle.

If you’re a widowed mom and the holidays feel unreal or foggy, nothing is wrong with you.

This is grief.
And you’re not behind. ❤️
