Did you know sleep plays a big role in emotional health?

When we are sleep deprived, our brains have a harder time regulating stress, anxiety, and mood. That can mean feeling more overwhelmed, more reactive, or simply more exhausted emotionally.

Prioritizing rest is not lazy. It is one of the most important ways to support both your mental and physical well being.

Sometimes asking for help feels uncomfortable or even overwhelming. Many people feel like they need to handle everything on their own, but you are not meant to carry life’s challenges alone.

Your mental wellness matters. Reaching out for support can be a powerful step toward healing, growth, and feeling more balanced in your daily life.

At Improving Lives Counseling Services, we are proud to have therapists like Jordyn, LCSW. Jordyn holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northeastern State University and a master’s in social work from the University of Oklahoma. She has experience working with adolescents, families, and individuals navigating sexual trauma, grief, and a variety of mental health disorders. Jordyn is passionate about serving military families and giving back to the community.

There is something incredibly rewarding about hearing a client say, “I actually tried what we talked about last session.”

Therapy is not about being perfect or having everything figured out right away. It is about taking small, brave steps toward change. Those moments of trying, learning, and growing are worth celebrating every time.

Meet Hayley, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Hayley works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, self-esteem challenges, perfectionism, and big life transitions. Many of her clients come in feeling stuck in intrusive thoughts, people-pleasing patterns, or unsure how to set healthy boundaries.

Her approach blends evidence-based therapies like CBT, IFS, mindfulness, and attachment work with a warm, collaborative style. Hayley describes therapy as having a compassionate guide walking beside you through life’s messy, meaningful moments. Sessions focus on slowing down, understanding what’s happening beneath the surface, and building tools that actually help.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or second-guessing yourself, Hayley offers a steady, nonjudgmental space to reconnect with your own voice.

A gentle reminder from your therapist.

You do not need to be further along, more confident, or more certain to begin. Starting where you are is enough, and it is often the most important step in the process.

You don’t need to label a relationship as unhealthy for it to take a toll on you.

Often, the signs are not dramatic or obvious. They can show up as second guessing yourself, feeling on edge when nothing seems clearly wrong, or making excuses for behavior that does not sit right with you. These experiences can still impact emotional well-being.

During Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, we want to help teens and families recognize that awareness is not about fear. It is about helping young people understand they deserve to feel safe, respected, and supported in their relationships.

A healthy relationship should always feel safe, supportive, and respectful. Everyone deserves to feel valued, heard, and cared for in their relationships, especially teens who are still learning what healthy love looks like.

Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month helps raise awareness about warning signs and encourages young people to build relationships based on trust, kindness, and respect. Conversations like these can help create safer communities for everyone.
