On March 27, 1965, Stewart “Snake” Myles entered this life, born to Stewart Bowling and Margaret Ann Miles.

On March 21, 2026, the Lord whispered to him, “You are closer to My home than yours—come to your eternal home with Me.” Stewart answered the call and entered into eternal rest.

Stewart was a humorous, joyful spirit who brought laughter wherever he went. As the only child of his mother, he and Margaret shared a special and unbreakable bond. His presence, his laughter, and his light will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lawrence Edward Board

Some lives are remembered for what they accomplished—others for how they made people feel. Lawrence Edward Board, Sr. will be remembered for the connections he created. He had a way of bringing people together, holding relationships steady, and leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. The bonds he formed—with family, friends, and community—will continue to live on long after his passing.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Edward Board, Sr., who entered eternal rest on March 24, 2026.

Born on December 20, 1947, Lawrence lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by those he loved. He was known for his calm spirit, steady presence, and the quiet, dependable way he showed up for others. You didn’t have to hear him say much to know he cared—his actions spoke clearly.

At a young age, he gave his life to Christ at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. He later became a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church, where he faithfully attended with his wife, Linda, for more than 20 years—remaining deeply connected to his faith and his church family.

Lawrence attended Western High School and Owensboro High School. Early in life, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1967. He completed two overseas tours, including service in Vietnam. For his dedication, he received the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the M14 Sharpshooter Award, and several other commendations.

Following his military service, Lawrence built a long and dedicated career with BellSouth/AT&T, working as an Installation Technician for more than 30 years. He was also a proud member of the Mount Pisgah Lodge and a Shriner.

In his younger years, Lawrence was an outstanding baseball player. Throughout his life, he enjoyed a wide range of activities—bowling, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, playing tennis, and golfing. He also found joy in music, often playing the guitar and harmonica.

Lawrence is survived by his siblings: James Board, Juanita (Walter) Winstead, Patricia Board, Sherman (Lori) Board, and Shirley (Sam) Palmer; and he is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Board, Jr. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Through his work as an installation technician, Lawrence connected lives by installing lines and telephones that carried voices across distances. Still, his most treasured connection was at home, where for more than 53 years he shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Linda Webster Board—a bond that grew into generations of love.

He leaves to honor his legacy his loving wife, Linda Webster Board; his children, Contonia Board Dean (deceased), Lavita Board, Lawrence Board, Jr., and Shalonna (Dorsey) Slaughter, all of Owensboro, Kentucky; and his cherished grandchildren: Keishyra Dean, Kenny Dean, Riyonna Coker, Rimyia Coker, Rico (Julie) Coker, Tehryon (Trisha) Coker, Landon (Jamila) Board, Lebron Board, Samirah Board, Niles Board, Kinsley Board, Emersyn Board, and Leighton Board, along with 19 great‑grandchildren.

Lawrence also opened his heart and home to others, serving as a father figure to Antonio Mahone and Luis Hayes, as well as several foster children—demonstrating that love and family extend far beyond traditional boundaries. He delighted in fellowship with family and friends, where laughter was abundant and the simplest moments were the most meaningful.

His presence brought comfort, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him. The connections he made in this life will never be broken.

William Lavelle Leachman

December 15, 1974 – March 25, 2026

William Lavelle Leachman was born on December 15, 1974, to Rodney Leachman and Darlene Maddox in Owensboro, Kentucky. He spent his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia. William graduated from Redan High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

After graduating from high school, William and Cordliss Jester welcomed a beautiful baby boy, William Sharod Leachman, Jr. William later moved back to Owensboro and married Denisha Buckner. William and Denisha had two children, De’Aria Leachman and Nevaeh Leachman. He was blessed again when he and Crystal Mundy celebrated the birth of Madisyn Pearl Leachman.
William started his entrepreneurial quest by opening a corner restaurant, "Big Will's." This establishment put William right where he wanted to be—in the community. He could be seen breaking bread and "chopping it up" with the young and old of the community. He found himself back on the front lines when he was hired by the H.L. Neblett Community Center, where he was known for wanting to meet his kids "right where they were."

William Leachman loved his family. Not only did he father four children, but he also cared for and cherished his foster children: Erius Floyd, Adrienne McDonald, and Ka’Leah McDonald. His respect and appreciation for his “Foster Mom”, Fong Lee Maddox, was well known. William’s love for his community was strong. He loved his big cars and music. It was sheer bliss to have all of them at the same time. William's laid-back southern drawl and smile were his devices to attract you into his world of unconditional love. He will be truly missed.

William was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Maddox Leachman.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving father, Rodney Leachman and wife Thomasine Leachman; his grandmother, Magelean Leachman; his sibling, Austin Leachman; his aunts, Sharon Kelly (David), Celeste Gainey, Anita Payne, Fong Lee Maddox and Bonnie Leachman; his uncle, Charles "Pete" Leachman; his children, William Sharod Leachman Jr., De’Aria Leachman, Nevaeh Leachman and Madisyn Pearl Leachman; special cousins Scott Kelly, Anthony Leachman, Keturah Hodgans, Rocky Maddox and Juluis Maddox along with other host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

William’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the community he served, and the love he gave so freely.

A heartfelt message from his father….

To my son, Jamarious—

I’m sorry for all the moments I missed in your life because of my mistakes. I never imagined I would wake up one day and have to face the reality that I would never see you or hear your voice again. You grew up so fast, and even though part of me loved watching you become your own person, it hurt to see you acting just like I did in my younger days.

You were loved more than words could ever explain, and it breaks me that you had to leave this world at the hands of the very people you trusted and spent time with. I used to call you from jail just to check on you—you were so focused, and even then, I still stayed on you because I wanted the best for you.

I need you to know that I love you, and I will carry your name with me forever. Your siblings love you, too. Watch over your little brother who’s up there with you now. And tell Granny I said hello, and that I love all of you forever.
