DCPS Families,

As predicted, the winter weather has arrived in our area, and for the safety of all students and staff, all DCPS schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26th. This will be a traditional snow day with no DCPS@Home assignments.

Looking ahead, a decision regarding Tuesday, January 27th, will be made by 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, based on the status of power and other factors across the county. Tuesday will either be another traditional snow day or DCPS@home, depending on the circumstances and outlook at that time.

Winter Storm Fern continues to impact Kentucky, and it isn’t over yet, thanks to snow, sleet, and freezing rain. ❄️

The Kentucky State Police are responding to several storm-related calls. Our telecommunicators have answered 1,474 calls for service since noon on January 24.

Major roadways located in all KSP post areas are covered in snow and ice. We urge everyone to stay off the roads. If you must travel, clear the snow and ice from your vehicle.

MAINTENANCE PLANT ENGINEER

This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of projects at the facility to ensure the projects are completed on time and within budget. Lead preventive/predictive maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation in the most cost-effective manner.

MAINTENANCE PLANNER
JOB (2 OPENINGS)

This position is responsible for analyzing the preventive/predictive maintenance program and make recommendations; enhance or develop mechanical and electrical maintenance work packages; recommend short and long term maintenance activities; maintain a safe work environment; work closely with other personnel on cost tracking/budgeting; develop specifications for work activities/projects; use computerized maintenance management system to analyze and track equipment malfunctions; and plan scheduled unit outages and prepare for any forced outage work.
