Sophia has a Paw-blic Announcement regarding updates to our Notices of Privacy Practices Policy:
As of February 16, 2026, The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has mandated that all HIPAA-covered entities must update their Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) to include enhanced protections for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment records, aligning with 42 CFR Part 2. Our office takes our patient’s privacy seriously and has updated our privacy policy and educated our team on those changes. With this new ruling, all patients, regardless of how long you have been a patient in our office, must be made aware of the changes, offered our Privacy Policy Notice, and sign stating this has been done. We are posting our Privacy Notice for your review and please contact us if you have any questions!

🦷 Big shoutout to Jeannie, one of our fantastic hygienists, for recently completing advanced training with the Hu-Friedy PWR periodontal therapy system and bringing that expertise straight to our patients.

This specialized ultrasonic technology allows for more precise and efficient removal of bacteria and buildup below the gumline which is an essential part of treating and managing periodontal disease.

A very short-lived trip to Atlanta thanks to Winter Storm Fern ❄️

Dr. Whitt, Dr. Adams, and Michelle headed to Atlanta for the Winter Southern Academy of Periodontology meeting... squeezing in continuing education and a quick visit with friends.

Unfortunately, Winter Storm Fern had other plans and cut the trip short (see the last photo for how Dr. Adams felt about that 😅).

And even though there’s no photographic evidence, Michelle promises Dr. Whitt did attend class and was fully present 😂

A very chaotic 24 hours, but always a good time with fellow periodontists and friends!
