I offer and teach Reiki, which is one of the most ancient healing methods known to mankind. It was introduced to the world in its present form by Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese monk. Reiki (pronounced RAY-key) means "universal life force energy" in Japanese. It is a simple, non-invasive, natural healing method which allows one to absorb more life force energy. The energy is transferred through the hands of the giver and into the body of the receiver. Actual physical touch, while commonly used, is not required for Reiki to work, and the receiver is always fully clothed. Reiki affects each person or animal differently, but it always acts where ever the receiver needs it most. It induces deep relaxation which enhances the body's natural ability to heal itself. In its long history of use Reiki has aided in healing virtually every known illness and injury, from heart disease and cancer to broken bones, headaches, insomnia, chronic pain and anxiety, and so much more. Now offered as a complimentary therapy in many hospitals, clinics, hospice facilities, and also in vet clinics, and shelters, Reiki has been shown to reduce stress, accelerate recovery from surgery, reduce negative effects of medication, improve mental attitude, and help patients heal faster with less pain. Reiki never harms. Reiki is non-invasive and non-manipulative. Reiki does not require any particular belief in order to work. Reiki does not replace your doctor, therapist, vet or other health care provider. Reiki supports and complements all other medical and natural healing techniques. Reiki can be given equally well in person or from a distance. Reiki can be used on adults, children, infants, animals, and even plants. Reiki benefits all levels of being: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
