It is the final day of , and we not only want to honor the strength and courage it takes to pump, but also the the strength and courage it takes to stop. Sweet NICU mama, here is your gentle reminder that it’s okay to stop pumping. 💕

Sometimes pumping feels like the one thing you can do for your little one. Not only does it provide nutrients for them, but it also can provide routine for you. A schedule to follow and something to check off a never ending list when life seems to throw curve ball after curveball and your abilities as a mother feel particularly limited.

But sometimes there comes a time when this routine becomes near impossible to maintain, and/or your mental health begins to suffer. And it’s in these moments when it’s important to remember that it takes courage to begin the conversation about when it’s time to be done pumping. And it takes an extra dose of courage to stop! But within you lies this courage and you will know when the time is right for you. 💕

No matter the length of your pumping and breastfeeding journey, know that you did well. It may not have been the journey you always envisioned, but we hope you feel great pride. Not only for how you gave of your body, but also for the ways in which you honored your heart in the process. 💕

Whether you’re done pumping or currently find yourself making that decision, know that this sisterhood supports you. It’s not easy to throw in the towel, mama, but sometimes it’s one of the bravest things you can do. 💕

Did you know?

Foremilk and hindmilk aren’t two separate types of milk, but rather a gradual change in fat content during a feeding. Your baby gets everything they need from your milk.

Had the pleasure of doing a quick telehealth visit this morning with a mama to talk about weaning. I met this new mama and baby 10 months ago and taught them how to breastfeed! It’s wild how fast time flies!

Message me if you need an appointment ❤️🤱🏼
