Caring for an autistic child can bring questions, learning curves, and moments where it helps to be around others who understand. Autism Connection was created to be a place where families can show up as they are. You’re welcome to listen, ask questions, or simply be present. Children are very welcome, too.

If you’ve been looking for an educational space that feels comfortable and unhurried, we invite you to see if this is a good fit for you. Our very first meeting is Monday, January 26th at 5:30 p.m.

Autism Connection was created for parents and caregivers of autistic children who are looking for a welcoming space for learning, reflection, and conversation at their own pace.

Starting in January, families can gather for monthly educational sessions featuring different topics and voices, with time to listen, ask questions, or simply connect with others who understand. Sessions are facilitated by our own Dr. Anne Kristen Glaser, and children are welcome.

We’ll meet at the Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library on the last Monday of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. If this sounds like something that could be beneficial to you, we hope that you’ll join us. 💜

Protect your baby this RSV season. Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common but potentially serious virus for little ones, especially babies under 8 months.

That’s why we offer Beyfortus: a vaccine that helps protect newborns and infants from severe RSV lung infection through their first RSV season.

Call us at (662) 236-3939 to learn more or schedule an appointment.

At Lafayette Pediatric Clinic, we follow the recommended vaccination schedule from the AAP.

At Lafayette Pediatric Clinic, we follow the recommended vaccination schedule from the AAP.

A statement from American Academy of Pediatrics President, Dr. Susan J. Kressly:

The decision by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to downgrade its recommendations to protect infants from hepatitis B is a dangerous move that will harm children.

The American Academy of Pediatrics continues to recommend routine hepatitis B vaccination for all newborns: All babies should receive a first dose of the hepatitis B vaccine within 24 hours of birth, a second dose at one to two months, and a third dose at six months. The pacing of these doses has been rigorously tested and proven to be safe and effective over several decades.

Vaccinating all newborns against hepatitis B effectively prevents transmission of the virus to newborns during childbirth, supports them to build immunity against potential childhood infections, and ensures long-term protection into adulthood from a virus that can cause serious liver disease and liver cancer. Infants and children can be exposed to this virus by close caregivers who may not know they are infected. Delaying the birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccine has no clear benefits and leaves children vulnerable to infection.
