Today is an important national and state holiday known as Freedom Day which falls annually on June 19th to commemorate the end of slavery and the emancipation of the enslaved. Our nation has become more enriched by this milestone proclamation that was reached on June 19, 1865 in the name of providing for a more just society with equality and human rights as the cornerstone of its foundation. Remember our nation's history, while also enjoying your own freedom today!
