On May 6, 2026, we proudly celebrated the graduation of ten outstanding nurses from Granville Health System’s Nurse Residency Program. Beginning their journey in July 2025, these dedicated team members have spent the past year growing in skill, confidence, and compassion as they transitioned into professional nursing practice.

Guided by Benner’s Model of Nursing, the program combines hands-on experience with continued learning to support new nurses as they build a strong foundation for their careers. Today, these graduates serve in a variety of areas across our health system, bringing high-quality, patient-centered care to our community.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. Congratulations to our newest Nurse Residency graduates. We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make!

We began Nurses Week with one of our most meaningful traditions, the Blessing of the Hands. 💙

GHS team members gathered for this special ceremony, where one of our chaplains, Keri Woodlief, shared words of reflection, gratitude, and encouragement. Nurses and staff were invited to take part as their hands were anointed and lifted in prayer.

This tradition is a powerful reminder of the compassion, skill, and dedication our team brings to every patient interaction. The work done through your hands makes a difference in ways that truly matter.

Thank you to all who joined us in this heartfelt start to Nurses Week, and to our nurses, whose care continues to promote well-being, accelerate healing, and inspire hope each and every day. 💙

Congratulations to our 2026 1st Quarter DAISY Award Winner, Brittany Pernell, RN! 🌼

Brittany was nominated by a patient’s family member who shared how her attentiveness, compassion, and calm presence made a difficult situation feel more manageable. From the very beginning, she took the time to comfort both the patient and their loved ones, offering reassurance and support when it was needed most.

The family described Brittany as a strong advocate who stepped in with confidence and care, ensuring her patient received the attention they needed while also supporting those around them. Her ability to remain composed, compassionate, and present made a lasting impact and helped bring a sense of calm during a very emotional time.

Thank you, Brittany, for the compassion, advocacy, and excellence you bring to every patient experience. 💛
We are proud to recognize the meaningful difference you make for patients, families, and our entire care team.

The DAISY Award is part of The DAISY Foundation’s mission to honor nurses who provide exceptional, compassionate care every day. Learn more at ghshospital.org/patients-visitors/daisy-award.
