Dr. Hoke was recently featured on "My DPC Story", a podcast that highlights the journeys of those physicians who have made the leap to a DPC practice style. Although there were many reasons why he left a traditional, insurance based practice, in this short clip he describes a patient encounter that made it clear to him that it was time for a change. You will also hear about timely inspiration that put the wheels in motion and the family sacrifice it took to make it happen!

GREAT NEWS! The "One Big Beautiful Bill", which was passed into law on July 4, 2025, includes a section about Direct Primary Care. The law now clearly clarifies that a DPC Membership is NOT an insurance plan, and that it meets the guidelines of being an HSA "allowable expense" under IRS guidelines. Simply put, starting in January 2026 (when the law becomes active) our members will be able to use their HSA contributions to pay for their monthly DPC membership fees. By using this pre-tax money, most members will see a cost savings that is equal to >2 months of free membership each year! This savings will make DPC an even more attractive option for those on the fence about joining a DPC practice.
