Women 40+…

Getting stronger doesn’t require a secret plan.

It’s the same foundational work we’ve always done: lift, challenge the muscle, recover, repeat.

This can be done by: heavier weight over time, slower tempo, more reps, more sets, better control.

It doesn’t look dramatic.
It looks intentional and consistent.
Doing the basics over and over again for life.

This is how we support bone density, metabolism, insulin sensitivity, injury prevention and long term health.

We all start somewhere.

Track fats by grams (weight) not by tablespoons. So easy to overestimate by scoops.
Track for a week. Using a scale gives you awareness, not restriction.
Portion control can be a game changer if your goal is fat loss or even maintenance.

Holiday nutrition reminder.🎄
It’s almost always about the dose. Most of the time it’s not about the food that is bad. It’s actually that we have too much of one macronutrient which is usually fats or carbs.
A simple way that I like to think about it is making sure you fill all the buckets 1st.
Fill your protein and fiber bucket. Then enjoy the holiday foods. This is where portion awareness helps and NOT restriction.
We should enjoy the holiday foods! Success in nutrition comes from liking how you eat which leads to adherence which is sustainable! Like everything in fitness and nutrition it’s not about perfection!
The same applies to alcohol.
If you overdo it, thats human! Not a big deal.
Just come back to the basics at the next meal.
-protein
-fiber
-portions
-CONSISTENCY (I always come back to that)

Great run at Goat Hill 🐐before the sun went down. Been slowly increasing the frequency of my runs and up until today my runs have been feeling draining. It was nice to finally feel like myself again even after leg day!💪🏻
I am in no rush to get back at it. Just enjoying each run as it is!😊
Love the cold weather and am looking forward to some snow to run in!❄️🤞
