Today, we remember.

On this day, 24 years ago, our nation was forever changed. We remember and honor the lives lost, the countless families impacted, and the brave first responders who ran toward danger without hesitation.

For many in the EMS, fire, and law enforcement community, the memories of that day are deeply personal. It is a reminder of why we serve, why we train, and why we stand ready—always.

As we reflect on September 11, 2001, we reaffirm our commitment to service, to one another, and to ensuring that the spirit of unity and resilience we witnessed in the days that followed never fades.

We will never forget.

Labor Day is a time to honor the strength, sacrifice, and dedication of workers everywhere. While many take a well-earned rest, first responders remain ready to answer the call. We had a great day working alongside Naugatuck Emergency Medical Services, Beacon Hose Co. No. 1, and Seymour Ambulance Association providing standby coverage for today’s 5K hosted by Black Hog Brewing Co. 🚑💨 From the starting line to the finish, our team was ready to keep everyone safe. Congratulations to all the runners and thank you to the event staff for having us!

Today, Oxford EMS partnered with members from Seymour Ambulance Association to teach bleeding control to the Oxford School District. Chief Poston led a presentation, followed by hands-on training where our members demonstrated how to apply direct pressure, place tourniquets, and pack wounds. 🚑🩹 Every person trained is another life that can be saved. We’re grateful to work together in building a safer, stronger community! ❤️

With over 150 members to train, we wanted to thank Seymour Ambulance Association and Beacon Hose Co. No. 1 for allowing us to borrow some equipment to make the hands-on training possible!

🚑 Oxford EMS on Standby for Oxford Pop Warner Football 🏈
This weekend, Oxford EMS is proud to provide medical standby coverage at the Oxford High School field for Oxford Youth Football & Cheerleading. Our team is on-site to ensure the safety and well-being of all players, coaches, and attendees throughout the event.

We’re always ready to support our community, whether it’s youth sports, school events, town festivals, large public/private gatherings, or any other type of event. Oxford EMS offers professional medical standby services for events of all sizes.

One year ago, our community faced historic flooding that tested not only our infrastructure, but also the resilience of our first responders and neighbors. That day reminded us how quickly emergencies can evolve — and how vital it is to be prepared for the unexpected.

At Oxford EMS, we remember those who were lost.

Over the past year, we’ve continued to grow and expand our capabilities — from specialized training and equipment to developing our Special Operations programs — ensuring we can respond safely and effectively to any emergency, in any weather.

Our commitment remains the same: to stand ready for our community when we’re needed most. Together, we’ll keep moving forward — stronger, and more prepared than ever.

We stand with the Plainville Fire Company, as they mourn the loss of a firefighter who made the ultimate sacrifice at a structure fire this morning.

Our hearts go out to the fallen firefighter’s family, loved ones, friends, and the entire department during this difficult time.

Our friends over at Quaker Farms Fire Company hosted another great carnival, and Oxford EMS was proud to be there providing medical coverage throughout the event. While our volunteer EMTs were primarily on-site to care for carnival-goers in case of emergency, they also enjoyed the chance to spend time together and connect with the community we serve. Thank you to everyone who made the event a success!
