Early this Sunday morning, Oxford EMS responded into Derby as a part of a large mutual aid response for a 3-alarm structure fire.

This incident required an extensive response from multiple agencies including Storm Ambulance (Derby), Seymour EMS, Ansonia Rescue Medical Services, Bethany EMS, and others.

All crews on scene worked together in assisting with rehab and transport, supporting the crews working extended operations. During the incident, OXEMS had a fully staffed ambulance in town maintaining full EMS coverage for our Oxford community. We’re proud to stand alongside our neighboring departments and provide support when it’s needed most.

We’re expecting significant snow and freezing temperatures in the next few days. Winter storms bring heavy snow, slick roads, and dangerously low temperatures.

Dress warm and layer up! Cover exposed skin and limit time outdoors. Check on loved ones. Seniors, children and pets need extra care. Prepare your home and have heat sources ready. Avoid travel if possible. Snow and ice make roads dangerous.

Please take precautions, slow down, and make smart choices to help keep yourself, your family, and our responders safe.

Your safety starts with preparation. Stay indoors, stay warm, and stay weather-aware.

As we wrap up the year, we’re filled with gratitude after celebrating at our End-of-Year Holiday Party. The evening was dedicated to honoring our incredible volunteers, whose commitment, generosity, and selfless service have shaped everything we have accomplished this year. Your commitment to this organization and to the Town of Oxford is truly inspiring, and the impact of your sacrifices is felt far beyond what words can express.

We were also grateful to be joined by many of our partner organizations, whose continued support and collaboration help strengthen our mission and our community. Thank you for standing with us and sharing in this celebration.

To our volunteers: thank you for your time, your heart, and your unwavering belief in our work and commitment to this Town. You are the reason we succeed, and we are so thankful for all that you do—today and every day 💙
