After various cancer treatments including chemo, radiation and immunotherapy, Tom thought he was out of the woods when he was told he was cancer-free. However, due to additional unforeseen complications, he was starting a new fight—this time against AFib.

“I was a swimmer in college, so my conditioning of choice is to swim laps,” Tom said. “I started experiencing bouts of AFib but didn’t really know what it was.”

Tom worked with Dr. Gaurang Gandhi and his team at TriHealth Heart & Vascular Institute, eventually deciding on a Pulse Field Ablation as treatment. Watch Tom and Dr. Gandhi talk about how they were able to collaborate in Tom's care, getting him back to his active lifestyle: s.trihealth.com/UdiCKA

Today is World Diabetes Day! Despite his family history, the possibility of Type 2 Diabetes wasn’t always at the forefront of TriHealth patient Steve Ulmer's mind.

“I was concerned about it, and I finally crossed that line with my A1c, and at that point I got serious, because whether it’s busy, fast-paced life, wasn’t eating right, or didn’t even care,” Steve said, reflecting on his previous lifestyle. “Stay close to your primary—I would have never known about the diabetes care team that TriHealth has built today.”

National Radiologic Technology Week® is an annual celebration to recognize the vital work of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in patient care and health care safety.
The week-long celebration takes place during the week of Nov. 8 to commemorate the discovery of the x-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on Nov. 8, 1895.
