When someone is said to have 20/20 vison, it means that he or she can clearly see the same details from twenty feet as someone with normal vision. 20/10 vision means being able to see the same details from twenty feet that someone with normal vision can see from ten. 10/20 vision is the reverse.

Blinking lubricates the eye and is an important feature of good eye health. One common problem with watching too much electronic media is that digital screens typically cause the eye to blink less frequently.

Some common signs and symptoms of hyperopia include: headaches, eyestrain, squinting, and blurry vision, especially for close objects. If you experience any of these issues, then go and see your local optometrist in order to receive help.

When ordering your glasses, make allowances for time. A basic prescription will take about a week to fill; bi- and tri-focals take about ten days; coatings and polychromic lenses will take a little longer.

When you work in a conservative industry, you may worry about whether certain styles of eyeglass frame will be too trendy or ostentatious. Whether you’re ready to make a statement or you simply want to be able to read the fine print, we’ve got the frames that can make it happen.

If you are considering providing eye care services for your company and employees, we can help. We have a number of programs available that are tailored to businesses of any size, and are economical for all involved.

The right eyeglasses should correspond to what you do for a living as well as what you like to do after work and on weekends. For example, if you work in a cubicle, your glasses will differ than if you make your living as a personal trainer or teaching Krav Maga!

How often should you visit the eye doctor? Adults should go at least once every two years; after age 60, optometrists recommend you visit once a year. Children should be checked at six months, three years, and six years of age, even if they seem to have no vision problems.

I have been having headaches along with eye strain and occasional blurred vision. Your optometrist can offer a definitive diagnosis. However, those symptoms could indicate that you have undiagnosed astigmatism. If so, the condition will not correct itself, but glasses can correct your vision.

Your eyes are incredible feats of natural engineering. Under the right conditions, the human eye can see a light from a candle as far away as 14 miles! We want to ensure your eyes are as healthy as they can be and continue working hard to bring you all the visual information you see every day.

Did you know that it’s possible to improve the color discrimination for a color blind person with glasses? Using colored lenses can help them better distinguish their missing colors, but won’t correct the problem.

Try to get enough sleep the night before an eye doctor appointment. Being tired or straining your eyes before an appointment can actually give you a false reading.

You probably already know blinking is good for your eyes. It provides them with soothing and essential moisture. Care to guess how often the average person blinks per minute? If you guessed 18 times or so, you're right.

While people may have once gravitated only to neutral colors for their eyeglass frames, a variety of bolder choices are now available. Whether you’re interested in making a statement or keeping it low-key, we can help you find the right frames for your needs.

Did you realize eye health can be a determiner of other problems in the body? General health factors, like aging, and environmental factors, like exposure to second-hand smoke, can have an impact on health that may become evident sooner in the eye than in other areas of the body.
