CCC-SLP, TSSLD, is a New York- and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist who has practiced for 14 years. She graduated from New York University in 2004 and finished her clinical fellowship at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation and Medicine. She has worked with adults, children and infants, including those in neonatal intensive care, and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders and developmental delays. Purvi’s experience includes providing early intervention, evaluation and treatment of children ages 3-6 years old at New York City’s HeartShare First Step Preschool who were diagnosed with a variety of speech-language and autism disorders. She performed evaluations for the New York City Board of Education and maintains a private practice in Oyster Bay, New York, specializing in pediatric speech-language and communication disorders. Purvi conducted neurological research at NYU in collaboration with her professor and managed the school’s voice lab as a research assistant. She also presented a paper on short-term auditory retention at the National Student Speech-Hearing-Language Association. Her study focused on the retention of syllables and words over different time spans. She has received honors and awards from NYU, is PROMPT-trained and uses the Kaufman Speech Language Protocol with her apraxia clients. Purvi has equipped her practice with a sensory gym for her clients to meet their sensorimotor needs, socialization goals as well as open play. She has also introduced new language based play groups (2-3 child per group) for different ages along with social skills group for different ages at her private office. She is now pleased to inform that services through CPSE and CSE in Nassau county, and/or private pay is now provided at her office.
