🚑 We’re Here to Help — The Right Way 🚑

We know it can be difficult to decide when to seek medical care, and we understand why some may call the station looking for advice.

While we’re always here for our community, Ozark EMS is not able to provide medical advice over the phone. Our station phones are maintained for administrative purposes and general questions, but medical concerns cannot be safely assessed without seeing a patient in person. Providing advice over the phone can be unsafe and falls outside the scope of what we are able to do.

If you believe you may need medical attention or are unsure about your condition, calling 911 is the safest option so trained responders can evaluate you and provide the care you need.

Your safety is always our priority, and the best way we can help is by seeing you in person when care is needed.

đźš‘ In a Medical Emergency, Every Second Counts đźš‘

A quick reminder to help ensure you receive care as quickly as possible.

We’ve recently had an increase in calls being made directly to our EMS station for medical emergencies. While we understand wanting immediate help, the most effective way to get assistance is to call 911 right away.

Ozark EMS does not dispatch emergency calls from the station. All calls are handled through Ozark-Dale County E911, where dispatchers coordinate and send the appropriate resources to your location.

Calling the station directly can delay care. Crews are often already out on calls, and phones are not always monitored at the station.

When you dial 911, dispatchers can immediately activate both EMS and Ozark Fire & Rescue personnel trained in medical response, ensuring help is on the way without delay.

For any medical emergency — call 911 first.

Our EMS crews were honored today to receive appreciation plaques from John Dasinger with Explicit Customs Car Club and the Roberta Rose Foundation, along with Jason Varney.

John shared his personal story of addiction and recovery and spoke about the times EMS responded to help him during some very difficult moments in his life. Hearing his gratitude and seeing how he has turned those experiences into a mission to help others was incredibly meaningful for our crews. Today, through Explicit Customs and the Roberta Rose Foundation, John works to support individuals in our community through outreach focused on substance abuse and mental health.

Jason also shared about the challenges he faced growing up and how the encouragement and support of former Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson helped guide him toward a better path. Stories like these serve as a powerful reminder that the work first responders do can have an impact that reaches far beyond a single call.

We are grateful for the recognition, but more importantly we are thankful for the opportunity to serve our community and to see the difference compassion, support, and second chances can make.

Thank you to John, Jason, Explicit Customs Car Club, and the Roberta Rose Foundation for taking the time to recognize our EMS team and for the work you continue to do in our community.

Today marks day one of Advanced EMT school for three of our own—and not just coworkers, but siblings! That’s something you don’t see every day.

Lane, Sylvanna, and Kyle Williams each bring a great attitude, strong work ethic, and a real passion for EMS to everything they do. Their decision to continue their education and push themselves further in this field says a lot about who they are.

We’re proud to have them as part of the Ozark EMS family and wish them the best of luck as they take on Advanced EMT school. We know they’re going to do great! 🚑👏

🎄🚑 Ozark EMS Christmas Party 🚑🎄

Last night, Ozark EMS gathered to celebrate the season and reflect on an incredible year at our Christmas party held at The Fox Den in downtown Ozark. The venue was absolutely beautiful and provided the perfect setting for a memorable evening with our EMS family.

We were honored to have Mayor Ward in attendance and truly appreciate his continued support of Ozark EMS and our mission. A huge thank you goes to Megan DiFilippo for catering the event and to Heath Clark for cooking the meat—everything was fantastic and helped make the night a success. Thank you to everyone that contributed to our event.

The evening also gave us the opportunity to recognize excellence within our department. Congratulations to Trinity Childs, our BLS Provider of the Year, and Sydney Wortham, our ALS Provider of the Year. We were also proud to once again recognize Tyler Kramer as our Employee of the Year, an honor that reflects his dedication and commitment to our team and community.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Chief Jason Maertens for his leadership, guidance, and unwavering support throughout the year. His dedication continues to move our department forward.

We are incredibly thankful for the year we’ve had, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the team that makes it all possible. We look forward to an even stronger and more successful 2026. ❤️🚑

đźš‘ Careers on Wheels at the Ozark Agricultural Complex! đźš‘

Paramedic Kristy Clark and EMT Cherish Martin represented Ozark EMS today at the Careers on Wheels event.

They talked with students about what it’s like to work in emergency medical services — from responding to 911 calls to providing life-saving care in the field. The kids loved exploring the ambulance and learning how EMS professionals make a difference every single day!

We’re proud to be part of inspiring the next generation of healthcare heroes.
