🚑 Careers on Wheels at the Ozark Agricultural Complex! 🚑

Paramedic Kristy Clark and EMT Cherish Martin represented Ozark EMS today at the Careers on Wheels event.

They talked with students about what it’s like to work in emergency medical services — from responding to 911 calls to providing life-saving care in the field. The kids loved exploring the ambulance and learning how EMS professionals make a difference every single day!

🌞 Stay Safe in the Summer Heat! 🚑
As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat-related illnesses. Ozark EMS is here to remind you: Heat emergencies can happen fast — but they’re preventable.

🔥 Tips to Beat the Heat:
✅ Stay hydrated — drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
✅ Avoid strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day (10 AM - 4 PM).
✅ Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothes.
✅ Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles — not even for a minute!
✅ Check on elderly neighbors and those without air conditioning.

⚠️ Know the signs of heat exhaustion:

Heavy sweating

Weakness or dizziness

Nausea or vomiting

Headache

If symptoms progress to confusion, fainting, or hot, dry skin — call 9-1-1 immediately.

Stay cool, stay safe — and enjoy your summer responsibly! 🌊

Our deepest condolences go out to all the residents of Dale County during this difficult time following the loss of retired Sheriff Wally Olson. His dedication and service greatly impacted the community, and he will be remembered fondly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all those affected by this loss.

The highlight was a demonstration of the Lucas device, a state-of-the-art mechanical chest compression tool that ensures consistent, high-quality CPR during cardiac emergencies. This event not only educated the community about EMS roles but also highlighted Ozark EMS's dedication to utilizing advanced life-saving equipment across their ambulances, emphasizing their readiness and commitment to providing top-tier emergency medical care.
