It is breast cancer awareness month, and we are passionate about women’s health and holistic wellness!
Did you know that our breasts are primarily adipose (fat) tissue? Yes! This means that they do not have the same quantity of blood flow as the rest of our body.
Due to this, stagnation can occur in the tissue, which is why it is so important that we are massaging our breast tissue regularly (daily-weekly) for blood and lymphatic flow!
Here’s what to do:
-Keep a bottle of castor oil, sesame seed oil, or Earthley’s Lymphatic cream near by the shower
-Warm the oil in your hands and massage intentionally into the breast tissue for 1-2 minutes each
-Let the water rinse the oil off (no soap)
Follow up with a self exam as taught by your health care practitioner. You may notice your breast tissue feel different during different parts of your cycle, this is normal!
If you notice any breast lumps, make sure to contact your health care practitioner before continuing massage.
If you have had breast cancer and struggle with lymphadema, reach out to our friend .touch for all things lymph!
We are there for you if you have any vaginal dryness, pelvic pain, or any other pelvic floor dysfunction following treatment. 💗
