I’ve been thinking about starting up this business again tonight, and this post comes across my feed. It’s feels like confirmation!
So I am pleased to announce that I will begin taking on new clients again for virtual therapy starting next week.
🎉🎉 stay tuned for details to come 🎉🎉
The gift I never asked for.
Last Christmas I opened a heavy box from my husband. Behind the pretty Christmas paper was a beautiful red dutch oven.
I hadn't asked for it.
I wasn't sure what to do with it.
And he'd also gotten me a new crock pot that I had asked for.
I decided, even though it was pretty and thoughtful, I was going to return it. I pushed into a corner of my bedroom with intentions of taking it back to the store. It sat there for months. Finally as Fall recently approached, I saw the Dutch oven still sitting in it's box in the corner of my room.
I wiped the dust from the box and lifted the red pot from its packaging. I slid it into a kitchen drawer- not sure if or when I'd ever use it.
But tonight, I wanted to try a new recipe for tomato bisque soup.
I opened the drawer and pulled the heavy pot out.
Now, I'm not much of a cook. I like to bake, but cooking often intimdates me.
I sat a bowl of soup in front of my husband- nervous for his response.
To my surprise, it tickled his taste buds. Two bowls later and he was still raving about the soup.
As I cleaned up the kitchen and washed up my new red pot, I thought about the gift I'd been given.
It was one I hadn't asked for.
It was one I planned on returning.
It was one I kept in a corner collecting dust.
It was one I was unsure how to use.
The pot made me think about some of the gifts God's given me. Some of them I've embraced and even asked for while others feel foreign and maybe even unwanted.
Friend, perhaps it's time we dust off those gifts, put them in their proper place and put them to good use.
Who knows, it might turn out to be the gift you never knew you wanted.
