🌟 Employee Spotlight: Catherine McClendon, CNA 🌟

For nearly three decades, Catherine McClendon has been a cornerstone in the world of compassionate caregiving. A Certified Nursing Assistant since 1995, Catherine brings not just experience but an unmistakable warmth and devotion to the hospice patient she serves.

Originally from Louisville, Alabama, Catherine now calls Brundidge home, but her heart never left the pews of Mt. Zion AME Church, where she remains an active and dedicated member. She’s also the proud matriarch of a big, beautiful family: wife, mother of four, and grandmother to twelve.

What sets Catherine apart is her gentle strength and quiet grace. Her calm presence and sincere dedication bring comfort not only to patients but to their families as well. Whether she’s offering a listening ear or easing a difficult moment with her steady care, Catherine’s professionalism and tender heart shine through in everything she does.

When she’s not making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, Catherine loves surrounding herself with friends, family-and a good dance floor! Her joy is contagious, and her spirit is an inspiration to us all.

💜 One of the best parts of hospice care is how caregivers and families become lifelong friends. Today, we were reminded of that when a former caregiver, now dear friend, joined us last minute to help judge the Chili Cookoff at Oakview Manor. 🌶️
Moments like these show how community, compassion, and connection continue long after hospice care ends. Thank you Mr. Leroy and Oakview Manor for a fun afternoon!

With over 13 years of nursing experience, Katie brings both compassion and dedication to her role as a hospice nurse. As a mother of two daughters, she balances her professional and personal life with grace, drawing strength from both her family and her calling.
Katie finds deep fulfillment in being a nurse, especially in hospice care, where she has the unique opportunity to support patients and their families during some of life’s most meaningful moments. For her, being able to provide comfort, dignity, and peace is not just a job, it’s a privilege.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, and taking in live music whenever she can. Her warm spirit and commitment to helping others continue to make a lasting impact on everyone she cares for.

🌿 Today we remember 9/11 and those lost in recent national tragedies. Grief is something we carry together—as families, communities, and a nation. In hospice, we are reminded that peace and comfort come through love, presence, and compassion. Our prayer is for peace in our homes, our nation, and our world. May we honor the past and walk forward with hope. 🌟
