A beautiful and dignified tribute Rest in peace.

A crown rested on her casket.
Not because she was famous.
But because her family refused to let her be remembered as just another headline.

Inside Cooper City Church of God, more than 2,000 mourners gathered to honor Miya Marcano — the 19-year-old whose disappearance from her Orlando apartment shook the nation. Dressed in royal blue, her favorite color, loved ones wept beside a royal blue coffin topped with a crown. Police said a maintenance worker at her complex, Armando Caballero, had become “infatuated” after she rejected him. He died by su***de before he could be arrested. Days later, Miya was found.

At her funeral, her uncle made a plea: don’t let her name fade. She was a daughter, a student, a vibrant butterfly — not a statistic. And her family wants the world to remember that saying “no” should never cost a life.
