Happy New Year to all of my amazing clients! This year I worked on over 300 patients, attended several continuing education clinics In Ocala and Tennesse, got certified in saddle fitting, and upgraded to a new Magnawave machine and attachments! 🎉

As many people know by now, we will be welcoming a new addition to our family in May 2026 so I will be not be taking any new clients until after I get back from maternity leave. I’m so thankful for everyone’s patience and understanding with me during the ups and down of pregnancy so far and I’ll be keeping everyone updated in the up coming year as far as when I’ll be going on materinity leave and returning.

One example of pelvic disfunction in horses: a twisted pelvis. This is where one side of the pelvis sits higher, lower, or more forward than the other side. This is easily seen by looking at the tuber sacrales (the two boney structures at the top of the top of the pelvis). Not only is the SI joint affected but also p***c symphysis on the underside of the pelvis and also sometimes deeper muscles such as the psaos are affected.

In this case, the right is the higher, stronger side and the left is lower, weaker side. Since the right side is stronger, the horse will use this side more in everyday life because that’s what is most comfortable. Over time, the muscles on the right will have to overcompensate for the left not carrying its weight (figuratively and literally) and they will become tight and appear bigger. This is seen by the right hip being drawn forward more, the right glute appearing higher, and striations in the tensor muscle.

While this condition can’t be reversed once it happens because of the fusion of the pelvic joints, the compensation seen can be managed with regular bodywork and appropriate exercises to help balance the body.

I love getting messages like this 🥰
This lovely little mare has had issues with laminitis flare ups and the last one she had was particularly bad. I started doing bodywork and Magnawave sessions on her every 2 weeks. I address not only her hooves with the energy mat to reduce inflammation but also her whole body to help her deal with compensation pains and tight muscles.
Her vet was so pleased with her progress this last visit 🤩

What an amazing weekend in Ocala! It was such a privilege to learn from Dr.Audrey Declue and get to meet other talented body workers from all over!
We covered everything from spotting lameness with and without equipmentent, to acupressure and fascial lines, to saddle and bridle fit.
Everything built off of the first part of the series I attended in March which took a deep dive into anatomy and biomechanics.

I wouldn’t be able to travel and continue my education like I have without the unwavering support of my amazing husband 🥰
We had a great time exploring with the dogs after class everyday!

I’m super excited to integrate everything I learned into my practice to further help all of my client horses 😆

This is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to straightness issues in horses and usually it starts here in the hindend with an ilium flare.
This happens when muscle tightness is pulling one side of the pelvis towards the lumbar and the other is being pulled back towards the tail fixing the hindend over to one side. The spine isn’t being pulled one direction or the other in this horse so that tells me this isn’t too advanced just yet.
This issue will cause your horse to not be able to move their hips correctly which in turn affects how they use their legs. Some common things you’ll see is not tracking up at a walk or trot on one side or both, difficulty picking up a canter lead opposite of the affected side and stepping to the outside of their front tracks on the affected side, etc..

I’ve been working on this for quite some time now and I’m super excited to add this into my program! I see issues from poorly fitted saddles and equipment all the time and it’ll be amazing to provide some answers for my clients and relief for the horses.
