We recently had Ryan Hopkins, one of the owners of Lavender Creek Co., here to present a Lavender Wellness Workshop. Him and his wife own a lavender farm in Greenfield and sell products made with the lavender. We had the opportunity to try some lavender product samples, taste freshly made lavender simple syrup and received sachet bags of dried lavender.

Thank you to VNA and officers from the Naval Postgraduate School for coming to Canterbury Woods, on Veterans Day, to honor our resident veterans with Certificates of Special Congressional Recognition for their outstanding and invaluable service to the community. We have 22 residents who served in the Army, Air Force, Navy and the Marines. We celebrated with live music, performed by our residents, one of which is a veteran and refreshments. Thank you to all who have served! 🇺🇸

Halloween parade through our Health Center, 10/31/2025.

Residents and staff got into the Halloween spirit by dressing up in costumes and parading through campus. We had an employee appreciation breakfast with a food truck providing mini pancakes and crepes. We enjoyed taking photos at the photo booth. We had a candy jar guessing contest. The residents had their annual bean bag baseball competition. Halloween is the most fun holiday of the year at Canterbury Woods. 🤡🧙‍♀️

This year we had the most participation with 24 pumpkins entered in our annual pumpkin decorating contest, which was open to residents and employees. Five winners won Amazon gift cards. The winner with the most votes was #22, pumpkin potty time. 🎃

National Falls Prevention Awareness Day is observed annually on September 22nd, coinciding with the first day of fall. This day, sponsored by The National Council on Aging (NCOA), aims to raise public awareness about the seriousness of falls, especially among older adults, and promotes preventative actions to reduce fall-related injuries.

Mark, our Director of Rehabilition, held an exercise class for our residents focusing on fall prevention. Then he did a presentation on fall prevention.

A Major Public Health Issue: Falls are a significant public health concern, leading to injury-related emergency department visits and, in some cases, fatalities.
Common Injuries: Falls can result in serious injuries, including hip fractures and head trauma.
Preventable Accidents: Many falls are preventable through simple strategies and awareness.
