It was quite a battle between the reigning champions, the Monarchs (resident team) and the Fawns of Fury (employee team) this year. The Fawns triumphed! However, everyone won that day, because we all had a lot of fun together. ⚽️🏆😄

One of our residents recently threw a surprise birthday party for her husband's 80th birthday. It was quite a celebration with a live band, wine, good food and good cheer. 🎂🍾🍷

We recently held our first All Staff Meeting, which we will continue to have on a monthly basis. In addition to sharing information we wanted all staff to know, we celebrated 2 employees graduating from high school, 13 employees having June birthdays, 12 employees having June work anniversaries and 3 employees with significant years of service. We had raffles for birthday employees, anniversary employees and employees who attended the meeting. Winners got a prize of their choice. 🎉🎂

This year we had our July 4th Celebration on July 3rd, giving some of our staff an opportunity to enjoy the day off on 7/4 to celebrate the holiday with their families. The celebration included live music by the Dan Beck Band, a photo booth and a delicious barbecue lunch with an ice cream sundae bar. We also revised the menu on 7/4 to include barbecue ribs and root beer floats. 🇺🇸

June 12-18 is National Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Week. We actually celebrated all of our healthcare workers last month, however, wanted to take this opportunity to let our CNAs know we appreciate them for all they do to care for our residents.

The Second Mrs. London, is a debut historical novel written by our talented resident, Marlo Faulkner. After the book went live on Amazon at the end of April, we launched her book at Canterbury Woods. This week, we celebrate CNA Week, a time to recognize the incredible Certified Nursing Assistants who are true champions of care.

We're thrilled caregivers are celebrated in the coming-of-old-age film, Familiar Touch, which was filmed at Villa Gardens Retirement Community, a Front Porch community.
