Robert A. Myers, 87, of Pacific, passed away on December 31, 2025. Mr. Myers, son of the late Lee Roy Myers and Helen nee Kreinkamp, was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1938, in Pacific. He received his education from Pacific High School, graduating in 1956. On May 9, 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Edna Close.

Bob was a star basketball player at Pacific High School, once scoring 54 points in a single game. A record that still stands 69 years later.

He was a 69-year member of the Carpenters Local 1839. Bob was employed 38 years as the Construction Superintendent for Ladue Building and Engineering, where he built commercial structures and institutions throughout Missouri and Illinois, including churches, schools, bowling alleys, office buildings, and warehouses.

Mr. Myers was a past Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 329, and father of two Eagle Scouts, and grandfather of three Eagle Scouts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna Myers; significant other, Judy Mason; special friend, Loritta Colter; three siblings, Roy Myers and wife Ramona, Virginia King and husband Lee, and Marie Becker and husband Rollin; brother-in-law, Sam Joyce; sister-in-law, Nancy Joyce and three nephews, Mark Becker, Lorne Becker, and Tracy King.

Among his survivors are two sons, Gregory A. Myers and wife Patti of Villa Ridge and Steven S. Myers and wife Lori of Pacific; grandchildren, Eric Myers and wife Phoebe of Pacific, Zachary Myers and wife Melissa of Robertsville, Luke Myers and fiance Ellie Schmidt of Pacific, Matthew Dobsch and wife Lindsey of Catawissa, and Jacob Myers and wife Kay of Pacific; great-grandchildren, Theodore Myers, Lincoln Myers, Josiah Myers, Sophie Myers, and Vivian Myers; nieces and nephews, Rita Gray of Benton, KY, Laura Reynolds of Houston, TX, Jeff Myers and wife Audrey of Pacific, Tim Myers and wife Dawn of Eureka, Janis Birdsall and husband John of Villa Ridge, Paul Becker of NC, Kathy Buss of Fenton, Beth Roth of St. Louis, and Pam Quinn and husband Tim Frank of St. Genevieve, MO; other relatives, loved ones, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Beginnings Lutheran Church in Pacific, with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the Sunset Cemetery in Pacific, MO. Robert E. Murphy, 70, of Pacific, passed away on December 18, 2025. Mr. Murphy, son of the late William D. Murphy and Charlotte nee Roberts, was born on February 23, 1955, in St. Louis. He received his education from Chaminade High School.

Bob enjoyed spending his time down at the river with his hunting buddies and eating lunch with his brother often at the Family Restaurant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William D. Murphy II; brother-in-law, Mark Pross; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Murphy and grandson-in-law, Allen Moran.

Among his survivors are two children, David Murphy of Pacific and Danielle Kinsey and husband Brad of Washington; siblings, Constance K. Pross of Eureka, John T. Mary Gail Johnson, age 78, of Robertsville, Missouri, fortified with the Holy Spirit, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Washington Mercy Hospital, surrounded by loving family and caring hospital staff.

Gail was born December 29, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland where she attended Catholic school and graduated high school. Gail moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1976 where she met her loving husband Bruce whom she married in 1988. They lived in Mableton, Georgia until 1993 when he accepted a job opportunity that took them to Saint Louis, Missouri.

Gail loved Saint Louis but wanted space to call her own that was away from city life. She located a lot with acreage in Robertsville, Missouri, and oversaw the building of her new home. She was an avid gardener, a Boy Scout Cubmaster where she earned the nickname, “Mrs. Green Jeans”, a wildlife rescue volunteer, and a US Government Census worker. She loved to play cards and was skilled in the art of blackjack. Gail was also a passionate environmentalist and humanitarian and donated to support non-profit organizations aligned to those causes. She enjoyed classic TV shows such as Perry Mason and Gunsmoke.

Gail is survived by her husband Bruce Johnson; daughter Michelle Rafferty-Snyder and son Royce Johnson, both of Robertsville; granddaughter Lacey Sheeran of Acworth, Georgia; grandchildren Rayna Funk and Brogan Rafferty, both of Akron, Ohio; and grandchildren Delorian Johnson and Delyla Johnson, both of Lonedell, Missouri. She is also survived by five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Miller.

The family requests that those wishing to offer memorial to Gail in lieu of flowers contribute to one of the following charities: World Wildlife Fund (www.worldwildlife.org), Sierra Club (www.sierraclub.org), or World Vision (www.worldvision.org).

Nancy Lee Omer (nee Fisher) of Pacific, MO passed away on December 2, 2025 after a short illness. Nancy (Dee) is survived by her husband, Diquie Omer, one son, Greg Omer (Brigitta), one daughter Melanie Omer, 2 granddaughters, Morgan Schulte Jones (Jeremy), Katie Schulte Ridley, and 6 great-grandchildren: Avery, Zachary, Lucas, and Madeline Jones and Alice and Johnathan Ridley. She is also survived by her step-children Tim Massie (Davina), Melinda Massie Stout (Brian), and Sarah Massie Hedrick (Wes), and their children. Nancy leaves 2 surviving sisters, Karen Fisher Rafferty (Mike) and Lynne Fisher Fish (Jim), and nephew Brian Fairbanks, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. She loved them all dearly.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Ray (Mac) and Georgia Lee Fisher, her sister Bonny Fisher Colvin and her brother and sister-in-law David Boteler and Wilda Omer.

Nancy was born on November 4, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri, the first of four daughters. Nancy graduated Riverside-Brookfield High School in Chicago. Nancy attended Webster University, graduating with a BA in business in 1982. She then worked as a loan officer for Commerce Bank until 1984, when she opened Omer and Associates. Incorporating real estate and insurance into her tax and accounting office. In addition to Income Tax, Nancy also became a Certified Financial Planner. Nancy was a lifelong member of the Pacific United Methodist Church, a long-time subscriber to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, always accompanied by her dearest friend Myrta Pittman. She was a previous member of the Meramec Valley School board, a prominent member of the Chamber of Commerce, and a vocal supporter of any Pacific beautification effort. Her home was twice named Yard of the Month, highlighting her passion for gardening. Her home was featured in the St. Louis Post Dispatch Beautiful Homes series, displaying her other passion: family antiques. Nancy was widely known throughout the Pacific area and just as widely respected and loved for her gentle humor and compassion, as well as her natural elegance and grace. Nancy’s greatest love was her family, especially her granddaughters and greatgrandchildren. She was blessed with three stepchildren and 10 bonus grandchildren through a previous marriage. She was utterly devoted to them. “We don’t divorce children,” was her belief. Nancy will leave a civic void that will be difficult to fill and a family loss that will be impossible to measure.

Services will be held at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, December 7,2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 pm.

A private interment will be at the Blackford Cemetery in Blackford, Kentucky.

Benford A. Hanna, 88, of Pacific, passed away on November 13, 2025. Mr. Hanna, son of the late William Hanna and Alma nee Wooley, was born on April 28, 1937, in Bagnell, MO. On August 18, 1956, he was united in marriage to Harriett Caldwell in St. Louis.

Mr. Hanna loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He was a proud member of the Laborers Local 42 for 57 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Harriett Hanna.

Berniece B. E. "Susie" Weirich, 96, of Robertsville, MO, passed away on September 13, 2025. Mrs. Weirich, daughter of the late Edward Fox and Daisy McDaniel, was born on January 7, 1929, in St. Louis. On September 28, 1957, she was united in marriage to Floyd Weirich at Calvey Baptist Church.

Berniece enjoyed cooking for her family, working in her garden and canning, and sewing clothes for her family. She was also very active at Calvey Baptist Church, serving as both the secretary and pianist, and taught Sunday School.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Weirich; and brother, Edward Fox Jr.

Lana L. Steele, 79, of Pacific, passed away on July 20, 2025. Mrs. Steele, daughter of the late Fannie Barnard, was born on July 31, 1945, in Springfield, MO. She received her education from Southwest State College in Springfield, MO. She was united in marriage to James Perry Steele.

Mrs. Steele loved spending time with her family, cherishing every moment and holding them close to her heart. She found great joy in sewing, often crafting special keepsakes for her loved ones, and delighted in preparing delicious meals for gatherings. Shopping excursions brought her happiness, and she was always eager to eat cheesecake and pumpkin pie, savoring the sweetness of each treat as much as the company with whom she shared them.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband James Perry Steele.

Riley Pemberton Jr., born in Crescent, MO, on February 28, 1932, passed away peacefully at the age of 93, on April 6, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and respected member of his community, Riley will be remembered for his pride of growing up in Crescent, MO, and his kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family.

Riley married the love of his life, Dorothy Pearl Adams, on May 24, 1952, and together they shared over 72 years of marriage filled with love and support. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Riley served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, a time that deeply shaped his character and instilled in him a lifelong sense of duty and respect for others.

He spent much of his professional life working at Cupples Products Inc. as a shipping and receiving clerk, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. Beyond his career, Riley was deeply committed to serving his community. He was a member of the Gray Summit Lions Club for 52 years, where he contributed to countless community initiatives and made lasting friendships. He dedicated many years as a Scout Master of the Boy Scouts of America and served as a bible school teacher at the First Baptist Church of Gray Summit. Additionally, he volunteered his time as Khoury League baseball coach, fostering a love of sports and teamwork in young athletes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Riley and Opal Pemberton; brothers, Glen(Louise) and Bobby; sisters, Eula, Euna, Zella(John) and Reba(Junior); brothers-in-law, Roy Gibbs and Ed Hicks.

Riley is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy; children, Debbie(Randy) Wright and son Bill(Pam) Pemberton; grandchildren, Tammy Espowe, JR(Laura) Pemberton, Jessica Livengood, and Mike Pemberton; sisters, Shirley Gibbs and Alice Hicks; brother, Butch Pemberton; sister-in-law, Sharon Pemberton; eight great-grandchildren, and a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Cleon F. Schneider, 87, of Villa Ridge, passed away on February 16, 2025. Mr. Schneider, son of the late Leo Schneider and Flora nee Hagemann, was born on January 11, 1938, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia High School. On May 30, 1959, he was united in marriage to Wanda Glaze at Sacred Heart Church in Eureka.

Cleon enjoyed golfing, tending to his garden, working on his lawn, and deep-sea fishing. He also loved to bake, but most of all he cherished time with his family. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 60 years and a member of the Air National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy Vaughan; three siblings, Robert “Bob” Schneider, JoAnn Schneider, and Ronald “Ronnie” Schneider; granddaughter, Amanda Vaughan; daughter-in-law, Linda Schneider, and two sister-in-laws, Marlies and Beverly Schneider.

Among his survivors are his wife, Wanda Schneider of Villa Ridge; three children, Phillip Schneider of Pacific, Kevin Schneider of Pacific, and Jeanette Hammett and husband Keith of Springfield, MO; brother, Dennis Schneider and wife Dixie of Washington; grandchildren, Rebecca Stockdale and husband Chris, Ellie Duckworth and husband Andrew, Jacy Hammett, Cory Schneider, Nicholas Schneider, and Madeline Schneider; great-grandchildren, Lala Schneider and Edward Huckabee; loved ones and friends.

After a 10-year battle with cancer, Susie Staples, 71, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025.

Susan Diane Staples, nee Almstedt, born December 17, 1953, at Deaconess Hospital, St. Louis, MO to Robert Charles and Rosemary Martha Almstedt, nee Mertz.

Susie married John Thomas Staples on February 18, 1978, bore a son, Kevin Andrew Staples, and daughter Jill Marie Staples.
She attended Catawissa Union Church and graduated from Meramec Valley High School in 1972, completed a two-year degree at East Central Junior College, Union, MO. Worked at St. Francis Hospital, Washington, MO; Alton Box Board Factory, Pacific, MO; First United Methodist Church, Sulphur, OK; and 24 years with National Park Service, serving at Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Sulphur, OK; and Fort Scott National Historic Site, Fort Scott, KS. Retired May 2016.

Steven C. Hartzler, 70, of Cuba, passed away on January 19, 2025. Mr. Hartzler, son of the late A. David Hartzler and Dorothy nee LeSieur, was born on November 11, 1954, in St. Louis, MO. He received his education at Pacific High School, class of 1973. Mr. Hartzler served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army.

Steve was an over-the-road trucker for years; and his heart truly belonged to the open road. The hum of the engine and the endless highways were his sanctuary. He loved his job with a passion that was palpable, finding freedom and solace in every mile he drove. For over 23 years, he proudly drove for Schneider National, amassing an incredible 1,903,680 miles. Each mile was a testament to his dedication, skill, and unwavering love for the journey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Among his survivors are his wife, Kathleen Hartzler of Cuba, MO; three daughters, Shannon Thompkins and husband Kevin of Liberty, MO, Terra Henry and husband Rick of Lakeville, MN, and Jaemy Hartzler of Cuba, MO; son, Jesse Mills of Washington, MO; six grandchildren, Drake, Loren, Ashlynn, Cadyn, Talen, and Grant; Father-in-law, James Nordeck Sr. of Parkersburg, WV; lifelong best friend, Jim Moore of Pacific, MO; other relatives, and countless friends.

Paula B. Nolley, 72, of Fenton, passed away on January 10, 2025. Mrs. Nolley, daughter of the late Bob Jones and Veda Pauline nee White, was born on August 2, 1952, in Poplar Bluff, MO. She received her education from Poplar Bluff High School and Southeast Missouri State University, with a bachelor’s degree in music education. Paula married Fred Nolley in 1974.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Among her survivors are her son, Jeremy Nolley and wife Tara of Fenton; two siblings, Steven Jones and wife Nellen of Springfield, MO and Gregg Jones and wife Ali of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Kaylee and Loren Nolley; other relatives and friends. Her family remembers her as someone who poured her heart and soul into others and brought out the best in them.

Paula was an accomplished pianist and dedicated music teacher. She taught music full-time for 27 years in the Meramec Valley R3 School District from 1974-2001. Paula continued directing musicals at Pacific High School through the fall of 2024. Paula directed 32 high school musicals and 25 elementary musical productions.

Paula was the vocal director of 33 musical productions at East Central College. She was also the rehearsal accompanist and principal keyboard player for many of the productions.

Paula was a devoted Christian and showed the love of Christ in all that she did. She played piano at many churches throughout her life, most recently the United Methodist Church in Pacific.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Thiebes Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the United Methodist Church in Pacific. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Missouri.
