What’s Really Happening with Medi-Cal Renewals?

New findings from (California Health Care Foundation) reveal powerful insights from California’s Medi-Cal unwinding process. The report highlights the experiences of enrollees navigating renewals and the roadblocks they faced.

About 2/3 of the 2 million disenrollments were due to procedural reasons — not ineligibility. That means paperwork, confusion, and missed communication caused many to lose critical coverage.
