Lisa Berlin-Solberg, the incredibly gifted floral designer and former owner of the beloved Urban Botanica and Menlo Botanica will guide us through every step of creating a balanced, beautiful arrangement brimming with vibrant dahlias and other seasonal blooms.

To enhance your creative flow, we’ll be serving rosé wine and delicious small bites throughout the session.

🩵 G R A T I T U D E 🩵
In case we haven’t met yet, I’m Karla, the designer behind Sky of Blue. Approximately 2 years ago I opened my letterpress / design studio & shop with a dream of pivoting from a mostly wholesale greeting card business (don’t worry - still shipping to shops nationwide!) to building a custom wedding invitation atelier and creative workshop space. I studied a book on Ikigai, the Japanese concept of finding your purpose in life – the intersection of what you love and what the world needs (see next slide for a graphic I found by Justin Wright which beautifully illustrates this concept). This really helped set things into motion. 🙌🏼

I knew I could offer joyful experiences to my customers. If I could build it, they would come. Things organically fell into place. Bridal clients & workshop participants started spreading the word. The wedding invitation part grew quickly this year, with 2025 booking up, and well on the way for 2026. At the same time the workshops, which had a gentle start, began filling up.

I love what I do so much, and I believe that comes through in my work. I’m so thrilled to announce our upcoming Floral Watercolor workshop to be led by the amazingly gifted Bay Area artist and calligrapher Catherine Gunarso of Everlace Design Co. 🩵🎨

Please join us in our beautiful light-filled studio in Rockaway Beach on Saturday, May 10th at 11am-1pm for a delightful and relaxing watercolor workshop. Catherine will instruct us in various techniques to achieve the perfect watercolor blooms, while we enjoy delicious coffee, mimosas and French macarons. That time we made pretty little pajama tags with pink edge painting for our bride and her bridesmaids, her mom, and mother-in-law. Each one had her name, how and when they met and three awesome things about her! Loved designing these!😭🩷
