❤️ A big thank you to Huff n' Puff Pet Visits for bringing a Pet Day to us! 🐾

🐶 Our residents had the best time with sweet visitors, Zachary and Barkley, two very loving dogs. Pet Day always lifts spirits, sparks sweet memories, and creates special moments for our pet lovers. Did you know that about 1.1 million people in the United States are living with Parkinson's disease (PD)? 🌷

🧠 This progressive brain disorder is perhaps most well known for causing tremors, but other symptoms include loss of vocal volume, sleep disruptions, stiffness, and balance issues, among others.

Thankfully, there are ways to improve Parkinson's symptoms! 😀 Our therapy team offers rehabilitation services to help improve mobility, range of motion, function, and speech for those living with PD. Call us to see how we can support you or your loved one.

What does Occupational Therapy look like❓

It looks like someone practicing how to button a shirt again. 👔 Rebuilding the strength and dexterity to hold a coffee cup. ☕ Rehearsing the motions to prepare a simple meal and learning to use a reacher to safely pick things up without bending 🫳.

During Occupational Therapy Month, we’re celebrating the amazing therapists who help our rehab patients rebuild confidence, independence, and the skills that make daily life meaningful. 🫶

April is Volunteer Month, and we are celebrating the amazing people of all ages who share their time with our residents. From calling bingo to painting nails 💅, performing music 🎵 to simply sitting and chatting, our volunteers bring an essential joy and connection to our community.

🍰 We are having an Easter Dessert Auction Fundraiser on Thursday, April 2, from 1-3:15 p.m. 🧁 We hope you'll join us and either bring a dessert to auction off, or bid on a delicious dessert to share at your Easter table. 🥧 The highest earning dessert wins a prize! 🍪

We're excited to share that today marked the beginning of a wonderful new program at Parkview! 💫 Angela Farthing, our Ombudsman, along with PJ Witter, a dedicated volunteer and member of the Lion's Club, met with Tericka Ringler, our Director of Social Services, and Greg Lindsey, our Executive Director, to introduce the Purchase District Friendly Visitors Program. 💛 This program will bring caring volunteers into our facility to spend meaningful one-on-one time with our residents-helping them feel special, valued, and connected. 🫂 We are truly looking forward to the joy and companionship this program will bring to those we serve! 😊

We had such a wonderful time yesterday representing Parkview at a Lucky Bingo event for seniors! 🍀 We were proud to sponsor a cozy prize basket that included a luxurious shoulder heating pad, hand warmers, hot chocolate, and other comforting goodies. Our homemade pistachio cake was a hit — it disappeared in no time! 🍰 Together, we helped raise nearly $400 for the Alzheimer's Association. It is truly a pleasure to represent Parkview and support such important organizations like The Purchase Area Mental Health and Aging Coalition (PAMHAC) and the Alzheimer's Association. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special! 💚

🎉 Congratulations to Sherry Wisenburg, one of our CNAs, who is our February 2026 Whatever It Takes Champion! 👏 A family member of a resident was very impressed with Sherry, and said: "She is always taking pride in her residents' appearance and makes them feel special." 🫂

Sherry has been a wonderful associate at Parkview for many years, and is known for bringing in delicious homemade chicken and dumplings to share. 😋 We're so lucky to have you, Sherry! Congrats again. ❤️
