We are continuing to expand our multi doctor practice to provide the best and most timely care for all our equine patients. A friendly reminder that we offer 24/7 emergency care to those who have a VCPR.
A veterinarian–client–patient relationship (VCPR) means that your veterinarian has an established medical relationship with both you and your horse.

This relationship is important because it allows your veterinarian to:
perform exams and diagnostics
diagnose medical conditions
prescribe medications
recommend treatment plans
provide follow-up care
offer telemedicine advice specific to your horse
In Kentucky, this generally means your horse must have been seen within the last 12 months for the relationship to remain current.

Equine Vet Service specializes in lameness diagnosis and treatment in sport horses and is committed to continuing education to ensure your horse is getting the most beneficial treatment available.

A basic lameness evaluation generally starts by scanning a horses acupuncture points and lunging the horse to see its natural movement. If a problem is detected we will see if it can be corrected with a chiropractic adjustment. A flexion test may be administered to further diagnose the problem area. Nerve blocks can be administered to confirm the location of the problem area. Together these examination components help provide the general nature and location of the problem and a treatment plan is presented. Digital x-ray and ultra sound are available for further diagnostics. Our practice tries to use regenerative medicine when appropriate to provide the best long term healing solution.
