Three-year-old Elaina was getting ready to start “big-girl school.”
Instead, some symptoms piled up and her family was told to go straight to the Norton Children’s Hospital emergency room.
In this story, Elaina’s mom shares the early signs they almost missed, the early days filled with unknowns at Norton Children's Cancer Institute, the comfort of child life specialists and facility dogs, the tears over losing her hair, and the joyful moment she rang the bell, signifying the end of her treatment.
Elaina's mom wrote this for other parents walking the road of a childhood cancer diagnosis, to remind them they are not alone and that hope can grow even in the hardest seasons. 💛
