National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day (NYHAAD) is commemorated annually on April 10th to urge policymakers and the public to take action regarding the impact of HIV and AIDS on young people and highlight the HIV prevention, treatment, and care campaigns of young people in the U.S.

Today, we honor and remember Ryan White, the Indiana teen who died 36 years ago, after a courageous fight against HIV/AIDS.

At the age of 13 Ryan contracted HIV through a blood transfusion. Given only 6 months to live, Ryan spent the next 5 years becoming a household name for HIV awareness and fighting the widespread stigma around it.

Shortly after his death, President George H.W. Bush signed the Ryan White CARE Act, which funds HIV care and treatment services for low-income people with HIV.

OutFit Inc., in partnership with Integrative Psychological Services, presents the 2nd Annual Transgender Day of Visibility Resource Fair & Film Screening! 🏳️‍⚧️

Join us Tuesday, March 31st, at Maiden Alley Cinema for a resource fair beginning at 5:30PM and featuring 10+ vendors followed by a viewing of the documentary film Born To Be at 7:00PM.

“BORN TO BE follows the work of Dr. Jess Ting (he/him) at the groundbreaking Mount Sinai Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery. There, for the first time ever in New York City, transgender and gender non-binary people have access to quality gender-affirming care.

With extraordinary access, this documentary offers an intimate look at how one doctor’s work impacts the lives of his patients as well as how his journey from renowned plastic surgeon to pioneering gender-affirming specialist has led to his own transformation.”
