This "point-in-time" survey is used to count people experiencing homelessness in Kentucky on a single night so that gaps in services can be identified and help ensure federal funding for HUD programs.

Phill Wilson is an internationally renowned HIV/AIDS advocate and activist. As the founder and former CEO of Black AIDS Institute his work was focused on mobilizing the Black community, addressing health disparities, and advocating for policy changes, particularly targeting the disproportionate impact of HIV on African Americans. A member of President Obama's Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, Wilson urged the CDC to increase funding for Black organizations and coordinated international workshops on treatment and science.

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (Feb 7) is a day to address the impact of HIV on Black communities and highlight the importance of HIV prevention, routine testing, and early care.

Together, when we work to overcome structural barriers to HIV testing, prevention, and treatment, and stop HIV stigma, we help reduce HIV-related disparities and health inequities in Black communities.
