Dear Friend's and Family,,
What if you were living on borrowed time?
Toni Aragon is fighting for her life. In January 2020, she became ill with C-Diff and had to go to the emergency room. While undergoing treatment, it was found that she was suffering from liver cancer. Now, doctors say a liver transplant is critical to her survival.
Toni used to lead an active, independent life, but her health battle has forced her to adjust to an entirely new lifestyle. Toni is thankful for her partner, Creighton, best friend, Mari, her two children, Naomi and Dominic, three grandchildren, family and friends, who have been by her side, keeping her focused and positive, every step of the way. Toni is looking forward to the transplant that will give her back her life. More than anything, she hopes to spend many more years making memories with her loved ones and watching her grandchildren grow up, but right now, she needs your help.
Unfortunately, Toni’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.
The average liver transplant costs approximately $878,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover the cost of the transplant, she still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications, which are as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.
Toni lives 275 miles from the transplant center, and she incurs substantial expenses each time she visits for evaluations and doctors’ appointments. When she receives her transplant, Toni and her caregiver will need to stay near the hospital during recovery, adding to the financial strain.
What if your life depended on the compassion and generosity of others?
The National Foundation for Transplants is working with volunteers and supporters to help relieve Toni’s growing burden of expenses. The National Foundation for Transplants has been assisting transplant patients with fundraising support for more than 30 years. Your gift of any amount will enable The National Foundation for Transplants to provide Toni with the financial support she desperately needs.
